Out of all the drum clips of me floating around online, this is my favs! haha. I remember there was literally like 30 people there and the show before there were like 30,000 hahaha. Still gotta have fun tho!
+Lester Estelle Haaa. just heard it for first time and when you got up and walked i was sittin here in a slow applause. YOU DA MAN !!! ( nice pinstripes)
I'm here because I saw a video of you playing a new Pearl kit and I said to myself, " I saw this guy before, he looks familiar". And then it hit me..... I saw you play for the first time with Pillar in Fort Lauderdale right on the beach. At the time my wife and I were dating. December 4th we will make 14 years married. Brother you jam on the kit. May the Lord continue to bless you. By the way I also play drums for my church.
The reason there were so few people in the audience is that the local radio station advertised one start time and the promotion company's start time was a few hours later, which was wrong. Those of us who were local showed up on time, the others showed up hours after the concert ended.
When they came to St. Marys Georgia on the For The Love Of The Fans Tour, i was working at the place that they played at and was working at the show and i ate with them personally and they are the nicest people. they look at being in a band as a devine appointment and its just amazing how did this for all these years!
I recorded this video in Plano, Texas. We were at a bowling alley. The show was sponsored in part by Power FM, a local Christian rock station in Dallas, TX. I was able to walk up the stairs behind the band which was the way to get in to the bowling alley building, that's where I recorded this video. As a drummer myself I asked Lester for a drumstick to put in my entertainment room but he wouldn't let me have one. That was 12 years ago and what I still remember from one of my favorite drummers. The band had a flat tire on the way down to the show and they were delayed in arriving.
It's a Butt Kicker Concert Sonic Shaker. It allows you to feel the lower end instruments like the kick drum and bass. If you use in ear monitors like Lester is using, you wouldn't be able to feel the kick drum in your monitors without cranking the volume and doing some damage to your ears. The butt kicker helps a ton.
Not to brag or anything, but I have seen them closer than that and they're actually some of the coolest guys you'll ever meet in your life. They're so humble and think that they're just a band havin a good time. Lester said he feels like he's just a drummer drumming and that's all. Awesome people..
Fo sho. He has the best timing ive ever heard. he never looses his counts. he always hits them no matter what fills he does. whether they'd be in the up beat or down beat.
That’s when we played with you guys! Good ol one minute halo days! Have always loved watching you play bro! Was standing right behind you in this video just soaking it up 😂 Hope all is well with you brotha and would love to see y’all again sometime. Take care man.
Sully and Godsmack play serving the God of this world and 75,000 souls show up, ticket and merchandise net them $3.5Million, Lester and Pillar play serving Yahweh and like 75 souls show up, tickets are free, they sell 3 T-shirts earn $50 bucks go home with more expenses than they make, Sully drives a new Rolls Royce lives in a mansion, Lester drives a Kia and lives in an townhome and can barely survive. Both equally talented. My thanks to Lester and Pillar, thank you for choosing not to serve the God of this world, I know it sucks what we are going thru, pain, suffering, headache, broke with no reward for your service. Guys stay ready, I see a concert in the very near future, playing before the Most high, Angels as far as the eye can see, reward, eternity in paradise! Much Love!!!!
oh for sure. most people don't even know his name- just "um Pillar's drummer, right?" Estelle is more solid than most metal drummers, and just as fast. Listen to his hi-hat work on med tempo songs of Where Do We Go From Here. He syncopates within driving rythyms, on his hats! not just the drums! very inspiring musician
Monster - plain and simple. Just sick. Hard hitting, yet clean and tasteful - not just a basher. Everything he plays has purpose. Someone get him some counseling please.
i totally agree. Those few people in the audience have no excuse not to be going BUCK WILD!!!! if i was there i would be jumping up and down like the flippin energizer bunny! shame on that audience.
