I love the way she explains how and why while illustrating. She's thorough and easy to understand. Thank you kindly. I appreciate your taking the time to share this knowledge/video.
AGREED ,but--- halfway through I began to smile with disbeleif. I've been in hospitals a few times, but no nurse has ever shown an interest in how I slept.
She explained exactly how she learn at school repeat how was show to her , Reminder me when I need to go to a physiotherapist young person she ask me question exactly how she learned from book
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Less than 2 minutes in and you have ended several weeks of my nightly shoulder pain that wasn't allowing me to get a good nights sleep and thus get better. I saw this video and tried it last night when I woke up with shoulder pain. I placed the pillow under my armpit and was able to fall back asleep with no problem at all. We need to make this video go viral, as one of the top reasons patients request surgery is night pains...
it works!! I've being doing it for a week , ive gotten from a couple of hours to 7 hours of pain free sleep, with the pillows on my side I do not roll over.most of the time iwake up after 2 hours but if I get up for a few minutes and properly position the pillows I fall sleep fast.most usefull video I ever got out of youtube.
I have to thank you for this advice. I have been suffering with shoulder pain in both shoulders for years. I didn't have an "injury" that I could point too other then for 60+ years I have been a side sleeper. So I have had to learn to sleep on my back over the last six months without any appreciable relief and my shoulder pain has only gotten worse. But I have been using your "three pillows" for the last three nights and I'm 100% better and almost pain free. But it's the rest the shoulders get with your pillow positioning has made the difference. I have also been using Dr. Kirsch's hanging method every day but the real difference as come from your sleep method. I can't thank you enough and I actually sleep better as I don't toss and turn or move now. Amazing!! And THANK YOU!! You changed my life.
for shoulder impingement...which most of us with pain have ( they say)….the hanging method is the real deal.....but if your sleeping on sore shoulders its not going to be enough.....I still can't get a good night sleep with this method but its about all you can do....
Thank you so much!! I tried a version of this with the pillows I had on hand last night, and I really had to peel myself out of bed this morning! I'm not sure I've gotten rest this good in the past 7-8 years. My tired, tired body is so grateful for this information. To anyone put off by the number of pillows for side sleeping, the quality of sleep is so worth it! The only real awkwardness I encountered was when adding my comforter on top of everything. That can be difficult, especially if you switch sides. I'll take that over pain any day, though.
Love, love the “crack”, b/t the back/head location - a space to let your shoulder relax. Such a huuuuuge difference. All the pressure I was experiencing was on the shoulder - that is, laying down...shoulder point was the first point of contact with matress, even before head/neck. Duh, no wonder I have pain in front shoulder at a fixed point where muscle/ball of shoulder/collar bone meet. Had naturally tried my back...not fun, but relieved the pain. Now you have not only described the problem (as all do) but have described well, how to fix it!!! You helped one person today!! Kudos.
As silly as it may seem......This actually works!!! my shoulders were too tight that I didn't even mind planting those pillows back when I got back from the bathroom. I even sacrificed snuggles with my husband. This is great, you should try.
What a great video. I'm watching it multiple times until my mind has it completely absorbed. I'm going to be training myself to do this. I will buy a couple of buckwheat pillows soon.
excellent video for anyone recovering from shoulder surgery. Sleeping soundly and comfortably is the hardest part of recuperation it seems. I'm 6 weeks post-op rotator cuff and biceps tenodesis among other things. Sleeping in the recliner just wasn't working for me, so went back to the bed and kept adding pillows to try to find that sweet spot, but it was hit or miss. Now I know exactly where the pillows should be placed and it's made a huge difference! Thank you so very very much!
This really helped! I've experienced pain in my neck and shoulders for the past few days. Just tried this and I'm impressed by the results! ^w^ Now all I've got to do is get accustomed to this new sleeping position
Thank you so much for sharing this!! I thought it seemed excessive but gosh it made such a huge difference. I haven't slept this well in ages, thank you so much!!!
Girl you are a gem. This is the best information I have seen, thus I have herniated disc in low back and tendinous in rotor cuff, no tear but I am living daily with such pain, and I feel that it all starts from the awful sleep position the night before.
Hi Rebecca, I just want to thank you for sharing this knowledge. It had a great impact in my life; I was waking up in the middle of the night and/or in the morning feeling a lot of pain in the neck, shoulder and arms and since I adopted this method I started feeling a great relief when I woke up. I can sleep the whole night without waking up feeling pain now. It took me a couple of days to get used to sleeping with so many pillows but it was definitely worth the effort and I can confirm that it REALLY WORKS! (at least for me) I also want to say that your explanation is excellent to understand how and why to do it. Once again, thank you for sharing this to everyone. God bless you, Luis
This video is gold. I juz had to modify my set up a bit with my soft mattress. I placed a folded large towel underneath my body pillow (pillow under armpit) to keep it from sinking into the mattress. Another folded towel on top of head pillow to keep my neck aligned. If your having trouble sleeping, hopefully this video or my comment will help you out. Happy sleepin’.
Perfect. I have been searching for a video that is complete, explains what to do and why. Other videos seem to jibber jabber a lot and don’t show completely how or why. I love YOUR video ❤😊
Thanks for this, Rebecca. I have been using your pillow positioning to sleep on my back with my shoulder issues (tendinitis and probable bursitis) for the past couple of weeks and it has really made a difference. I am sleeping well for the first time in a while and have shared this video with a few fellow sufferers.
WOW....I had back surgery 50 years ago (1972) for scoliosis. I have a 12-inch rod, 7 7-inch rod, and 5 pins all attached to the vertebrae along my spine with bone graphs. I have severe disc degeneration i'm in incredible pain and discomfort at all times...i rarely get any sleep. I can definitely see that i could benefit from the use of the pillows you've demonstrated in this video...thank you very much
I hope others have better success with this than I did. I suffer from a frozen shoulder on my left side and the recommendations in this video gave me the worst night's sleep I'd had in years. Best of luck to anyone who tries this.
Your idea of keeping a pillow under the upper back region helped me to reduce foot pain of that particular side which was bothering me while sleeping since many years. Thank you very much! Keep up your good work 👍
You saved me! Oh I had the worst nights sleep last night and was dreading it tonight. But almost immediately I could feel my body sighing in relief once I adjusted. THANK YOU!
Looks and sounds really great, makes real sense. Yet, I could not help but laugh uncontrollably that this is what we have come to - sleeping with 6 pillows in order to do what should come naturally and to which our bodies should have evolved a common sense solution. With that said I am going to try it. Thank you much~
thank u so much. i have migraines and chronic headache and 3 cervical disks herniated. couldn't really sleep. now i slept for 4 hours and slept rather well for the last 2 days. thank u again!
Thank you Rebecca. This video was very helpful to me as I had just discussed this with my orthopedic surgeon who just sat and looked at me like I was speaking another language while telling him about sleeping positions and problems I was having. He did finally mention that he could do surgery, which was very "nice" of him, but of no help for the sleeping issue. And his Therapist: also nothing to say / advise about pain at night while trying to sleep. This short video helped me greatly. Thank you again.
Looks like ill be buying a few pillows today. I have been suffering from painful shoulder for 6 months. And lower back pain. I will be trying this for sure. I really need some sleep. Thank you.
Thank you for making this video and taking the time to explain how to use pillows to support the body well during sleep. I will be sharing this with those who I know have a lot of body pain.
Wow! I have a long standing rotator cuff injury and the physio never explained this and my neck pain and shoulder pain are getting worse. I haven’t had a good nights sleep in over 6 months and wake up in pain every morning. Going to try this sleep position tonight, thank you so much for your generosity in sharing 😊
This is amazing I positioned myself on my back, put the pillows under both arms and I felt no strain on my shoulders, but in the morning the pillows were replaced with two luggages full of my clothes and a note saying hit the road !
I’ve had shoulder /upper back and neck pain for centuries and In the past two months since I’ve changed my job it’s become extremely painful. Every morning when o wake up my neck is aching and now I know why. Thankyou so much for helping me .
TNX for the great video. I personally totally agree with all said here, because more or less they are all what I ended up doing practically before seeing this video to solve some of my problems. I have a bit of acid reflux problem so I usually sleep on my left shoulder, however I have Rotator Cuff Tendinosis on my right shoulder and it feels so uncomfortable on top. The gestures introduced here worked the best for me specially the pillows under the top arm, and the one between the knees.
Great video. I would like to also add that It's not only the pillow we select but also the mattress which must match the pillow. Generally when sleeping on the side one should select a thicker pillow, one that can comfortably fill the space between the neck and the shoulder. I feel that using a firmer pillow or mattress offers more support and keep the body and spine more aligned. Memory foam pillows and mattress tend to initially feel very nice but later don't really provide any support like in a sense of pressure coming upwards from the pillow or the bed .
I tried this last night and mp sleep 🛌 😴 💤 was fantastic! I didn’t want to get 🆙 It amazes me how one ☝🏽good night of sleep makes all the difference! Thank you ☺️ for taking the time out and sharing this.
Im 26 and my neck, left shoulder, and upper back are hurting. My left leg would sometimes feel numb too. This video is very helpful. It somehow explains why i have all this pain. So lemme order pillowssssss online. Thanks a lot for the thorough explantion.
Hiiii i just Try it tonight and it works, i had been with hand numbness every morning because of breastfeeding and bad Sleeping positions, but for first time in two months I Awake without this problem😍
Cheers for the Video! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you thought about - Vaniam Tonatthew Formula (probably on Google)? It is an awesome one off guide for getting rid of your rotator cuff pain without the hard work. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my coo-worker at last got amazing results with it.
Thank you so much for your tips and for a great video! I just had a Rotator Cuff Surgery on my right shoulder. I had a severed tears that need it to be repaired. Right now it's been 4 weeks and not much sleep. for the first two weeks had to sleep in a recliner that caused a lot of pressure in my neck! I have a pinch nerve pain in my neck that is very painful and makes it very difficult to relax. I just moved to my bed to try to sleep witch its very difficult due to this sling that makes it very uncomfortable.. I took the sling off sometimes just to get couple of hours to sleep. I will move a thousands times hurting myself over all night! I am grateful for your inf and I will try the way with pillows.. Thanks again. Y.K.
The best tip for me is the flat pillow behind my head. This took the all night pressure off my partially frozen shoulders . Thank you for helping me get weeks ahead on my rehab
I love your demeanor and your information! I sleep when I’m hurting with many feather throw pillows to support arms. Larger pillows between knees etc....
Saw this video last night and it was the first time waking up with out a headache in a year can't believed it work life changing thanks so much for sharing this real work for me I have bone spurs in my neck and always had headaches when I woke up thanks again😁👍
Cheri Ann St. Vincent not easy but doable.i sleep like that or close to it nightly. Need one shoulder replaced and others start to hurt because of it, plus have has one knee replaced.
This looks like great advice. I'll try it tonight and in the coming weeks to try to relieve my shoulder pain. One problem I anticipate with all the pillows is feeling too warm. I'd love to have the bedroom temp at about 60 F. but that's not feasible at our house. Anyway, thank you so much for the advice and the great demonstration!
Thank you so much. Golf professional with adhesive capsulitus in right shoulder. This should help me get a better nights sleep. Much appreciated, Kevin
I’m a dude, using wife’s e-mail I got guillaen barre syndrome and my shoulders go numb back or spine hurts every day do to osteoarthritis so I appreciate this video so much,I lived a life for ten yrs wrestling and 20yrs on a motocross bike so yeah I’m screwed has nothing to do about how I slep when I was young it’s what it is,and they don’t have a cure for nerve damage if u know then please share.

Great! I have Fibromyalgia and use a couple of pillows thinking about the "Princess on the Pea"...
I'm going to try this tonight because my shoulders and back really hurt and I feel horrible stressful pains while I'm sitting in my exams and it really distracts me. thank you so much
