Well, the congas are from Cuba and the timbales... that's a long story! But they used to be from Tito Puente! A long time ago he had to play on Aruba together with my uncle. He gave them to my uncle when they were still blinking and shiny! When my uncle gave them to me (15 years ago) they looked old but the sound is still great!!

Well, I can show you some different 6/8 patterns on congas. I'm not really into djembe, although I went to Africa to study, I didn't study djembe. On my channel you can find some 6/8 patterns for congas like, Arara, Columbia, toque de palo, Abakua ect.

Great lessons, Michael, thank you very much. I'm taking a weekly rumba class, so the rumba portions are a big help to me- but there are so many other rhythms out there that I want to learn.. and you offer these as well. When you play all the parts at the end, and show how they lock in together, that's particularly helpful; and a lot of fun to watch and play along with. What can I say? Thank you, Michael.. and Ache`!
