You'll really like the plane. Just do over size your engine like I did only because it doesn't want to slow down. I have the issue work out now also went with a larger fuel tank. Enjoy.
Once you put in the turbine you want, made structural modifications to the original tank stand to put the tank size you want; keeping the CG balance in place.
I ended up upgrading the fuel tank to a CMJet 3L +1L fuel tank, the Dubro just wasn't working out for me. Yes I did some work to it. Plane flies great. Although I had some trouble getting it to slow down with the K120, but after adding crow it now slows down nicely. Did you see that flight video? Fifteen flights on the plane.
Thanks. As I've started setting up the throws. The throws the manufacturer suggest are not enough it must to be a typo, will have to find out what others are using for a starting point. I can't transport anything bigger than a 1.8m plane. Thanks again
Congratulations , I love the color. Viper Jets fly amazing. Great choice. May I suggest that you DO NOT put a screen on your intakes. They will be fine as is. Just make sure your turbine has the FOD screen. Also for the rear wing bolts a long ball driver should do the trick. Did it have lenses for the wings if you should put lights?
I didn't have to fix anything. The only issue I had was getting the wings on. I had to put my left wing on first, if I didn't it wouldn't go on if the right wing was on first. What I did was insert the wing spar into the wing so that I could make the wing connection, then back the spar all the way out put the wing in place then push that spar back into the wing and tight it down, then put the right side on. Now, a flying buddy bought one late last year hasn't been maiden yet. He said he didn't have a problem with the wings going on., and other fellow in the club also said he didn't have a issue with wings. So out side of that, that was my only issue. The plane flies really well. Slowing the plane was a little bit of a issue for me has I have a little bigger engine in mind so I needed to add crow, now there's no problem slowing it down on landing. Hope to get a few more video when flying season comes back around. Also add a bunch of lights to the plane. Am not using the stock tank that came with it, Am now have a CMJET 3L put 1Liter tank. I can easily fly for 10 min if I wanted to and still land with plenty of fuel. You may not have a issue with wings going on. There's also a thread on rcgroup I have some pictures of the plane there. You'll like the plane.
@@daviddavis9061 A flying buddy bought one at the end of our flying season he put a 80 in his but has flow it yet. Once we start getting better weather he'll be maiden his. I should be there to take some videos. And will be flying mine hopefully there will be someone there to work my camera of my flights. Oh he said he didn't have any issue with putting the wings on his or anything else. Thinking about getting the Predator 1.8m. Thank for checking out the video.
congratulations on your new Pilot RC Viper. This should be a lot of fun for you to fly. Try to keep your total weight down and not add to many other structures inside. If you use some throttle management and the right turbine .. the tank should work for you. KingTech are great motors but I am using the SWIWIN brand with great success. The SW turbines are pretty good on fuel consumption too. Looks like Pilot made some changes with these newer PNP kits. I hope you have the best time flying your new jet Rich
I've had a few other people mention that as well keeping the weight down. Where should the weight be for this model any idea? Thinking of going with a K120 as a club member is selling one because he's going for a K140 now. I've read this model once came in two section. Viper are nice flying planes. This should fly much better than my EDF foamy viper with the same style wing setup. Thanks for the advice.
Orsum Viper, love the colour scheme, shame about the placement of the wing tighteners, but she a beautiful looking plane, will keep a-look out for the build 👍🏻
Wow that's a nice setup , looks like maybe people who may have this jet figured out to just drill a hole big enough to access to screw with a long enough bit with a magnet tip and maybe using a rubber plug insert with a round body frame for the rubber plug so nothing cracks of vibrations , your definitely going to want a better way of off and on with them screws . Without dreading taking the wings off and on . The makers should've worked that out , doing the Finnishing of the model indeed. Pay this kinda money and don't cut simple Finnishing overlooking problems . Because constantly in and out with that screw from such a angle can definitely end up throwing the thread off and end up in a retapping project over something so simple . But yes nice video can't wait to see you get her going 👍
LOL! I notice the 1.8 viper isn't listed on the site anymore. It was between this one and the 1.8 orange Predator. Did like what I read about the Predator.
@@N2RIT yes I have the 2.2m predator. It's a great flying jet. I just.got the 1.8m viper kit. Got a question. Have you taken off the servo plate to check the servo mounts? The kit came with wood blocks to be glued in place. Does yours have blocks or metal L brackets?
Thanks. I ask a few flying buddies they all have said not to put a screen in it may slow the performance as the turbine has a FOD screen on it. Thanks again
@@N2RIT I personally don't think FOD screen reduce power turbine power. In 2003 My hotspot jet sucked in my fuel line and damage the compressor Ram 750 turbine...Repairing the engine was very expensive, I bought a strainer for kitchen sink and the rest is history. I never ran another engine without a fod screen. In my mind a damage compressor or lack of power I never saw lol. After posting my FOD screen mod everyone did the same mod lol
