Bilge Rat checking in, all the way from Trinidad and Tobago down in the Caribbean... Doug, well done...you have inspired many, your hard work and persistence is speaking volumes, to ALLLL the Patreons, Supporters, workers.. every single person who worked on this boat. well done, well done.
I started watching this boat build when you were pouring lead into the keels. I have watched it for well over 2 years. I am amazed that it is finally time to head for the Port of Catoosa! Great job Doug and everybody who helped out! Congratulations and God bless!
Thank you Doug for the plaque honoring those who are not able to see the boat finally finished. Zach Swearingen was my best friend and he passed far too soon. After informing him about this project I was over the moon with excitement that he was able to make it to Tulsa and help on this amazing journey you started. I was never able to help with the boat, but feel so much gratitude that you have stamped Zach's name onto the vessel as a memorial. Thank you so so much for that plaque and what you have accomplished. I wish Zach was still here to see it.
i am so happy yesterday i got to see Leo in his new place and it got to me in a good way, and then today Doug pulls off the pilot house and i got choked up again. congrats to Doug and everyone that helped or even just got to watch in person.
I am so excited for you Doug and everyone who has helped this project. I have been watching since before the submarine days lol. What a great boat, crew, and dream!
The balls on the guy on the roof. I work in maintenance and I have never seen someone ride a load because you die if the load drops. The winch sounded at capacity too based on the squealing when winching down, glad there was no damage to people or property.
Im trying to figure out why he was up there. Maybe just stayed up there after hooking up the rigging? Ive demaned quite a bit of old machinery and I like to get a nice vantage point away from the load because there's always that oddball part that'll get stuck and you won't see it binding untill it suddenly isn't lol
@@boredvideos1 Other people say he was taking up slack and adjusting to level the load but generally you don't go a few feet up to see if it is level, and the kid running the crane seemed to not understand that slow and safe is better than fast. Is what it is.
Please ..i would like to thank you...for giving back the motivation to get on with living life to the best i can..All i can say from my heart is God bless all who sail on SV Seeker and everyone who has worked and given to make a dream come true...Amen
I'm so incredibly gratified to see how far this project has come. Thank you for doing what you do, and congratulations on this important milestone. Looking forward to the 12th, and beyond :)
Totally Awesome and amazing!! Cant wait to See SV-SEEKER making first contact to the water! Just wish i could be there for the big slash down and Party!! Congratulations Doug on your major Achievement.
I’ve been watching you since the beginning. Is it so exciting to see you takeoff the pilot house finally. It’s something I’ve been waiting for for seven or eight years since you put it on. Congratulations wish I could come to the party
You need wire with tensioner in order to secure the radar mast caused by propellerrpm to speed or depth clearance vibration. And the main mast should be screwed to the base .With heavy wind and pitching or rolling of the boat no mast is heavy enough to stay in the position only by cravity from Greece with love
wow, such a nice view on these last events actions on the Seeker.....everyone is so keen on doing their best and fulfilling the tasks at hand ...what a way to go Doug...... hope for a smooth ride to the port....all the best comming times..
Iv been watching since you started to form the Hull, a massively achievement to all involved. Very much looking forward to seeing it sailing for the first time
Well that was nerve wracking! And I was only watching. Amazing team work everyone. Seeker is on her way. Congratulations Doug. You have inspired all of us.
I can't wait for next week I've been following you build this boat since you where filling the keels. I wish I could have come out there while it was dry but I'm just as excited to see it wet if not more. Good job Doug.
What an exciting video and time. The part where everyone was helping with folding the American flag was something else, a very proud moment. Loved the innocence of the young neighbor boy looking into the eye of the camera, just had to smile. So looking forward to the launching.
Going to be a sight to see going down the road. Id always imagined over the years of watching this being built coming over and seeing the launch was gutted when i seen the date with all the borders being locked down over the world coming over from Auss is practically impossible at the moment. This project has meant a lot to me over the years getting me out and doing what i never thought i could, Now my saying is theres no such thing as failure youre just not trying hard enough. 3 businesses later im where i want to be in life Thanks to this giving me the courage to say screw it its only money you only live once.
Have been watching since u started at the bottom, congratulations for making ur dream come true, and Good Luck on Friday's safe journey, greeting from Bournemouth, UK.
I was looking back at the first video that I watched of you building Seeker, nearly 10 years ago, it was "The big sandblaster Pt1". Just like to say thanks for the all years of entertainment and inspiration. Also to wish you good luck with the launch.. If on your travels you are passing by the marina in Altea, south east Spain, give me a shout and I'll come buy you a beer and some tapas
Thank you for respecting our flag Sir! Glad some of us can remember what that flag of ours stands for! Good blessings on your travels! You did a great job!
Really wish we could be there to watch Seeker move but being in England makes it very difficult. I bet your little bit nervous bit excited at the prospect of 10 years work moving to water at last. Thinking of you all and safe journeys.
It's just amazing how everything you needed you built by hand, from a boat to the trailers to haul the boat. Its gonna be an awesome day to see SVSeeker on the water!!! So happy for you and everyone involved!!
@@judd_s5643 thats correct. But since that is a private project not a company and no employees. (people helping out are not employees) they have no right to be there. However that crane operator is a company/business and has employees . And if I was OSHA and I saw that video I would be sending an inspector to all his jobs for the next 3 months.
@@Android-ng1wn I hear ya. But he is still using company's equipment. OSHA would have authority to shut that down. You are also missing the point here. What that crane operator was doing was supper dangerous. We all saw the video. You understand how close he was to falling off (dieing or severely hunting himself). Plus did you see how much the boat shook? Does Doug need to add another plaque to the boat wall. Come on, everyone here knows that crane guy f'd up and got lucky.
If you have my luck , when you put the pilot house back on you'll have one extra screw leftover , managed to fix a chopsaw with out any left over so maybe the tides are changing
Life is short, sometimes brutal. Get out there and live it. Live it well, live it today. But do what's inside you. The music, the art, the putting your arm around a friend. Whatever your talent is; Building a boat, building a plane... GET OUT THERE! DO IT, LIVE WELL TODAY! Forget the fear, you can come up with fear all the time, its easy to do. People will assist you with that every moment of the day. Do it anyway. Doug Jackson 2021
Wow.. I can't believe it has come to a end. Well this portion of your story. I subscribed to your channel Doug back when you were explaining using the old bus windows on the pilot house. Seems like last week. Congrats Doug. What an amazing accomplishment. Also on a side note. Lmao. That lady who was rigging and ontop of the pilot house talked a good game. But should HAVE NEVER been onto of what is being lifted. OSHA would have got wind burn on their hand writing tickets so fast. Lmao
Thats a retired guys hardhat 4 sure. Haha still nice to see big equipment moving the boat house. Excited to see the launch. To bad i cant make the 4hr drive due to work hrs.
just seen this on the local news! how awesome! nothing us tech geeks cant do.. i work across the street from oneok.. network admin myself. will def check out all your videos.. how cool
I can't believe its been a year already seems like yesterday you and Betsy announced the launch date. Yes life is short you can be pushing up daisies anytime.
Your cicadas look like Army Issue green ! The ones we get 'round DC have vivid RED eyes and almost black bodies... ours appeared in spring early summer and started disappearing in early July. Pilot house came off almost as planned, can't wait to see her moving to the port ! Good Luck !
@@williambarnhilll6206 Ours are gone but their little bodies left black stains are all over the sidewalks and roads. We had trillions of them supposedly : www.wusa9.com/article/news/nation-world/what-are-cicadas-why-do-they-bug-some-people-brood-x/507-bb934065-6c45-4a9f-bb3e-9a34a2ab7e44
The devil is in the details. Making sure there were lifting points for the pilot house as you built it and everything could be disconnected was in anticipation of this day. Here we go.
