Learn how to use NeoPixel rings with Arduino UNO and a rotary encoder. NeoPixels are great, because you need only one data wire to control any number of pixels you want, allowing to show any color. This simplifies the wiring and with a great library from Adafruit, the coding is simple as well. I hope to continue with this project in the future and create my own NeoPixel ring, using smaller NeoPixels to fit more pixels around the circle.

Ooooo 😮 I really like this version of the encoder knob evolution saga. It looks super clean and production quality. An aluminum knob and housing would be incredible for retrofitting air conditioning into a classic car🤔

That small LED was 1.5mm x 1.5mm ? I believe the 1mm by 1mm are freely available and the FAB house will place them for you. Awesome LED ring sketch....cheers.
@upir_upir
@upir_upir 2 месяца назад
You are correct; the small one was 1.5x1.5mm. I have seen those 1x1mm as well, but haven´t ordered them yet. I guess the difference will not be that significant, it´s already very small.

watching the video I thought they were selling the WS2812 in a very small package! And yes, the last seconds of the video - you have one such microcircuit on your finger in the frame! literally yesterday I was looking at a well-known online store, or rather WS2812 in a 1010 type case.
@mitchellstrobbe7779
@mitchellstrobbe7779 2 месяца назад
Idk about ws2812, but they do have a lot of small serial data controlled RGBs for those matrix screens too.
@oliverer3
@oliverer3 2 месяца назад
The smallest package World Semi makes is 1313 I believe, don't know about other manufacturers though. Still, 1.3x1.3mm is stupid tiny for an addressable RGB LED.
@upir_upir
@upir_upir 2 месяца назад
The one shown in the video is 1515 - i.e. 1.5x1.5mm, but you can also get this in 1010 package - i.e. 1x1mm. That´s super tiny considering it´s RGB LED with driver.

is it possible to drive 2 neopixel strips with 1 arduino? 1 neopixel strip should cycle through RGB while the other strip should fade in fade out 1 color. these strips should light up simultaneously.
@upir_upir
@upir_upir 2 месяца назад
Sure, that will be simple. Connect the second ring with the first one - data out > data in, and change the code accordingly - i.e., now you have double the amount of pixels.
@kobs9636
@kobs9636 2 месяца назад
@@upir_upir can you make a video? i dont know what im doing wrong. but when rainbow colors is active, the fading in and out of other strip is off. seems like i cannot run 2 for loops at the same time. they are just switching turns.
