Mama set her hair in pin curls every other night for decades. ❤ She also used Dippitty-Doo setting gel. Don't know what the difference is, but that stuff was completely different than today's hair gels/super glue! Great, easy way to add variety to shorter cuts! 👍
I used to pin curl my hair a lot when it was long, but I recently had it cut to be about chin length, and I can’t wait to try pin curling again! Great tutorial :)
The music! The little noises! The curling faces!! I don’t know how you do any of this. I can’t even FIND the back of my head. Fabulous result. I, frankly, didn’t once see “poodle hair”.
thank you for this! styling my hair seems so daunting since I've had a shaved head for four years, and I love the vintage styles, but you explained this so well and made it seem so achievable! can't wait to try it out!!
You look gorgeous! Thank you for sharing this. I'll definitely try it although it would definitely be a little more complicated since I have very thick and unruly hair, lol. Hope you'll release more vintage styling tips. Thanks and stay safe. Much love from the PH. x
Thank you so much for the tutorial!! It was super helpful to see the technique and result on similar length and texture hair to mine :D I cant wait to try it!
Poodle hair looked great ❤ but I think anything would look great with a face like yours xx thanks for the demo ill give it a go.... need to buy pins 🤣 tonnes of time in lockdown 3...
hello, thank you for this video! i have some questions: 1. is it important to use a hairbrush? the only one i have is a comb :c 2. are there any alternatives for the setting spray that you used before starting? preferrably maybe one that i can do at home with simple ingredients or something 3. what's the minimum amount of time (in hrs) i need to be able to get good curls? thank you again for this video, it's really helpful and i think you looked cute! :D
Hi! Answering your questions 1 - yes, a hairbrush will be soft on your hair while allowing to shape it, a comb wouldn’t work. 2 - you can use just water but depending on your hair it might not hold as long. You can also use hairspray after You’re done curling 3 - it needs to dry out completely so that will depend on how fast your hair dries. Someone with thicker/more hair would need more time.you can use a diffuser or a hair dryer to minimize the wait (with your haired covered with a scarf) Hope it helps!
@@theknityorker thank you very much for answering! :D i tried this once before but i think i didn't wait long enough because when i took it out the curls didn't form :( i will definitely try it again though! and i bought a hair brush so i hope it works this time~
i just tried it and it took me 42 minutes, pray for my hair tomorrow morning 😭🙏 so the results... idk if im just completely unused to seeing myself like this, but it feels weird? definitely not perfect, but i think i kinda got it, i just dont feel like thats my vibe and im sad 💔
I was so happy to find this video! We have the exact hairtype and cut and your tutorial is for the style I want. The result is gorgeous, I want to try this. Does your hair keep curls easily or does it go back straight quickly, My hair doesn't keep curls for very long but I have never tried a setting lotion, did it make a noticeable difference for you?
My hair doesn’t keep curls very well ha! The only way I’ve managed to keep them is with pin curls. Just using water works, but the setting lotion definitely extends the curl’s life. Hope it helps!
After 4 hours of curling? That’s probably too little time, you might have to leave it overnight. Also the product you use matters, if I don’t use any mine goes flat too.
