I have had the memory caps where the machine has been powered off for over a month with memory retained.

Thanks Mark. I've run some tests in a new video, and have found five minutes a week will easily keep the data safe. My guess is that a month or even more should be achievable as you say, but I can't give up the machine long enough to find out!

@@davesthinktank That's good you cant let it sit idle for that long without playing it. You can also use 3AA batteries with a diode for more long term.
