Hi Arvetta! yes you can use different centers for pineapples. In that series, I had to trim them down to 12.5 inches square but if you continued with a triangle center (for example) you would just put them together like an over sized Hexi at the end. I've watched a couple of your episodes and see that you have bins of scraps. Do you color coordinate them into bins or do you just put a bin together as you plan a quilt? Thanks for all this info! Your view of quilting is something I think is overlooked by a lot of quilters, but really something my ancestors would have done. It's a good way of perpetuating the "origination' of American quilting! Thank you!
Hi Lisa! I sort my scraps by color into Plastic shoe boxes. I put my crumbs and string together as I'm sewing other projects but when I'm working with my strings, I sort the string by color as well and I pull out all my crumbs and place in an empty Granola box. I have a different approach to quilting because I was taught by my mom and grandmother and they had a more "traditional" approach. Thanks for watching and supporting our little channel.

This is great! I've given a little thought to doing a pineapple with a center square and strips all around. Had worked out how to do part of it, but got distracted and sewed something else. Found your channel yesterday 4/12/2022. Evidently a lot of other people found you too, because you now have at least 1100 new subscribers, counting me. Keep it up :)

There are lots of methods on sewing pineapples but this is the way I was taught by my mom and grandmother. A lady at a quilt shop tried to sell me the pineapple lined fabric and I said no thanks, I was going to use my ruler - she very huffily said "good luck with THAT then!" So here's proof you can do it really well without! Um, I still haven't made the one I was going to, although I have done a pineapple before, fussy cut the finish triangles and it is on my mum's bed!
