RECIPE:
PINEAPPLE JAM FILLING
Prep Time 20 minutes
Cooking Time 25 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes
Makes 1 ½ Cups Pineapple filling
INGREDIENTS
1 Whole Pineapple 3 ½ Lbs
(3 Cups grated pineapple mixture)
½ Cup granulated sugar
4 whole cloves or 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
¼ Tsp fine salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare and measure the ingredients to be organized when cooking.
Wash the pineapple
Cut the skin off and
cut into big chunks
Grate with a hand grater on the course side
Measure for 3 cups
Taste for flavour
If it is too sweet
Add ½ Cup sugar and 1 to 2 Tsp lemon juice
Add the prepared pineapple, sugar and cloves in a saucepan
Let it cook for 30 minutes over a medium high heat
Stirring in between cooking time
Cook on low heat when the liquid reduced
Cook until it has reach a jam consistency
Let it cool down
Place it in a bowl with a lid
Store in the fridge until ready to use
Tips:
Cook on medium low heat
Depending on your stove
Turn Down the heat when the
Liquid reduces
Cook on low heat until finished
I Medium pineapple should give u
3 cups of grated pineapple .
If the pineapple is really sweet, adjust the sugar or squeeze a few drops of lemon juice in the mixture
The salt is needed
to balance the sweetness
