Today was the day I got in the bus to go to Piney Point for my training. It's been a very busy day, with lots of information thrown my way, and a lot of studying done. Thank you all for being part of this journey with me. If you have any questions, please reach out.

@@nohesitation2739 it was about 2/3 months until the survival training which was a week long, the testing was during that week as well.

Man, I’m reminiscing watching your videos dude! Going to binge watch all of them to see what you’re currently up to. I worked on POA back in 2017. I was a restaurant steward. Unfortunately ship life wasn’t for me. I only lasted 6 weeks and then quit. Worked on the ship from April 9th-May 21st.

Original goal was to work at least a year (2 contracts) on the ship to be able to pay off debt I had back then. Piney Point was my main favorite experience aside from working on the ship. Made some good friends that week I’m still friends with to this day. My class was #139. What was your class number?

What happens if you quit in the first month or 6 weeks? Do you have to find your own way home?

Thank you for this informative video! My fiance and I both got hired on to work as Stateroom Attendants and are very excited! We just completed the medical exam stuff today and now just a waiting game to get start dates/flight dates, etc. !

Just applied for the apprenticeship program I have my twic passport and medical card hopefully I get accepted man I want this so bad! Wish me luck everyone my test is on the 23rd of next month

To all of those viewing: I walked into Piney Point; Class 350 in 1981. No trepidations as I was 17 and too young to formulate any. Please. Have no concerns for training. The process in my time was what you may have thought it would be in that time. But it is no longer such. I’m a CE now and my only request is to come aboard your vessel with the intent to listen and remain diligent in your responsibilities. In the past to do otherwise was a personal shame. And trust. I sure was no angle in the beginning. Good luck and stay SAFE.

Hey good video! Thanks for sharing I'm thinking about this really hard to do this but I can't swim at all (yes it's sad Lol) but do they have a lot of ppl who can't swim or do you have to know a little bit I don't wanna be only the lonely struggling in the water Lol! Appreciate u for sharing!!

A few people in my group could not swim and they were able to pass. They can give you everything you need to pass if you’re willing to try. It’s an amazing experience.

Trent, quick question... when you were flown over to Piney point, did they tell you to just pack for the week of training or for the full trip to Hawaii? I'm noticing a trend with NCL that they tell you to just pack for training but then a lot of people are flown immediately to Hawaii after training. What has been you experiences, or what do you suggest?

They told me I would be going home so only to pack for a week, then they flew me to Hawaii. Pack like you would be going to the ship.

No they will decide for you, but you do get a bonus for going right on the ship

I already have my stcw training and it’s stamped on my MMC there should be no need for me to go through piney point again. I sailed commercially before.

They are starting to get a bit more relaxed, but yes. You can see the hair cutting policy online with some pictures.

Just the once, but they do random on ship.

@@CruiseAlongWithTrent that's good. I couldn't find a clear answer. I'm good but I'm still overthinking. I go Saturday!! **happy dance** and it's taken me close to a yr to get to piney. I had to take a 2nd test after 6 mo. I had a dilute test bc i drank too much water so i had to retake a (3rd) time. But the tests from walmart are lab accurate. I did a lot of research. Hope it helps future seafarers.
