love the ping heads. Unfortunately i don't like any of their stock shaft offerings. The worst stock shafts of all the companies by far. I tried a ping G430 with Graphite Design Ad Di and i absolutely loved it. Titleist has those as upgrade shaft options. Hopefully Ping figures this out.
G430 max 9* paired with hzrdus red 5.5 60g worked best for me. It gives me mid launch with low spin and finds fairways for me. Never played a more complete driver ever throughout my golfing years
Great content guys, thanks. I was fitted by PING rep for G43O MAX 9degree with Tour 2.0 chrome 65, average swing speed 95-105. Definitely lower launch which is what I was after and hitting most fairways even on mis hits, G430 MAX is very forgiving and gets the ball out there as well.
Would love to see a video like this for the Qi10 and AI Smoke shafts. Just to get an idea of the characteristics. I want to walk into my fitter and have some clue what questions to ask. 😁
Shorter shaft and lighter head is usually a very bad idea. Who thought that up? Midsize grip is not bad but Winns are a bit too squishy. Something like a Tour Velvet Plus 4 Midsize or CP2 Wrap Midsize is hard to hate.
G430 Max w/ Tour 2.0 Black was my fitting result. I like boardy feeling, low-torque driver shafts--they help me know where that club head is during my swing. Keep up the great work, guys. Love 2nd Swing and the Minnetonka store!
I swung the kai'li and the Tour Chrome 2.0 65S and I have to say the Kai li felt like it loaded in the handle a lot more and felt heavier through the swing. The Tour felt agile and quick I really liked the feeling it gave me. I ordered the Max in a 9 with the tour chrome 2.0 I can't wait for it to come in. I had a G425 10.5 the alta was always too whippy and launched to the sky for me. I also felt I launched the G425 really high even with a tensei AV orange 65 G in it. My swing speed is 100-105 I can get going up to 113 if I am grinding driver swings but on course I don't think I will hit that kind of speed. I hope this set up will be nice and reliable for me! :) Such an awesome club. It feels like dynamite off the face and it's SOOO forgiving. Love the videos guys.
@Kevin So would the Ping Tour 2.0 Chrome be similar in profile to the blue boards(mid kick pt with firmer butts/tips and softer midsection) like the Ventus Velocore Blue, Hzrdus Smoke Blue, KaiLi Blue?
Kevin just fit me to the AltaCB on my new G430 Max. With my slower swing speed it gave me the optimum launch angle and distance. The others we tried did not compare well.
Kevin Kraft is great! Got my irons dialed in. And David Ko fitted me for my driver - ended up getting 60 yards after getting me the right head + shaft combination! Awesome guys at Columbia 2ndswing
I feel like I've heard the kali is the lowest launching option? My fitting, the ventus black felt like it loaded more than the kali... I would have thought the black 2.0 would have been similar
I tried out both Tour Blk S and Kali and Kali is heavier and launched lower for me and is what I needed. The Tour Blk felt good thought. My swing speed is ~104
@user-ox4wj9yb7d same swing speed here. I actually bought chrome bc I was coming off a shaft that I felt was too stiff. I've started to wish I went with black tho
From what I’ve gathered not much difference other than sound between the 425 and 430. My son just picked up the 430 today. If he had a 425 I would have recommended him to do the same thing. Overall Drivers just don’t gain much numbers wise from one year to the next or in this case every other year. Rick Shiels just released a video of the Big Bertha vs the Paradym. Roughly 20 yards of difference is all Callaway had gained over the past 20 plus years. Rick said in over all feel he preferred the feel of the 90’s model Big Bertha.
I got fitted for the G430 max driver with the Ping Tour Chrome 2.0 shaft in a stiff flex. I swing the club on average 100 mph. It was the best shaft for me out of all of the stock options.
I'm running the tour 2 0 chrome and it absolutely changed my game. I'm averaging 310 yards, carry and 325 roll. Driver went from something I never used to my favorite club.
This is exactly what I hate about experts fitters 2nd swing you don’t to consumers any good here. Différents shafts are for différents swing speeds and players plural form. Here, 3 different swingers at 80’ +, 90~+ and 100+ would had been better to get a realistic choices for each category.
It's not just swing speed. If you pay attention It's about launch angle and where in the shaft it's stiff, and weight of shaft. Swing speed is minor these days.
Just got fitted into the Ping 430 LST with a ping 2.0 black shaft. Never used a ping shaft but it was longer and straighter than even the up graded shafts.
My 16 yr old son just picked up the PING G 430 today with the Tour 2.0 Chrome shaft. He spent a lot of time hitting the Paradym, Stealth 2, Aero Jet and the G430 and loved the forgiveness and sound of the PING.
