@@rainwhenidie4444 I listened to it a couple times but it wasn't sleep as I know them. To bad the disbanded again. Got to see them in concert twice though
Gilmour exemplifies the word cool in his laid-back manner, never jumping around or even pulling off faces like most other lead guitarists, especially in that time frame. His humble ways make me think that he doesn't realize how good he truly is.
Half way through Careful with that ax Eugene he lose a drumstick, grabs another, and doesn’t even miss a beat. Absolutely love these guys. Huge fan and this is probably one of my favorite concerts of theirs.
I think there were 2 or 3 people who happened to be in the area backpacking or hiking, and they stumbled across the site during filming. Pink Floyd allowed them to hang around & enjoy the free show.
@@195511SM Those guys must have told that story a time or two. I suppose anyone within say, I don't know, ten miles probably heard them that day too. ;-)
not gonna lie, this is my favorite reaction video of yours so far. (doesn't hurt this is one of my favorite pieces of music recorded to video) but my reasoning for it is that you let the music envelop you and rarely pause the video/song. usually you pause pretty often to make a comment here and there because you want to fill the roll of being a reaction channel and tell your thoughts as they come. Pink Floyd in Pompeii is just on another level and puts every listener in a trance. love it
Seen Pink Floyd the first time July 6, 1977 in Montreal, Canada at the Olympic Stadium I was 15... then seen them in Los Angeles on February 10, 1980 , 2 of the best concerts ever!!!
It’s beyond, and infinitely, incredible to watch someone experience this incredible music, for the first time. Welcome to the brilliance of Floyd, my friend.. Enjoy the trip, Hermano!!!👊👊👊💯
This is my favorite concert of theirs!! It is stripped down. Just guitar, bass, keyboards & drums. Check out any of the Live At Pompeii. It is all available on youtube.
"Floating" yes sir brother! I totally know that experience with this group....for me it was connecting on another dimension and plane where space and time collide..
When Richard Wright(keyboards) passed away David Gilmour (guitar) stated that he would not and could not perform "Echoes" anymore without Richard. There is a more recent live performance of Richard shortly before passing away playing this song with Gilmour and it is STUNNING !!!
Jamel...you asked where that was from. I think you may be thinking of the phantom of the opera. Similar sound...the part you were talking about. Great reaction! Yes indeed!
All an illusion my friend. All the footage was recorded over four days. They played it all in sections and edited it together later. Half the show is in a studio too, where Rick has no beard. Vocals were tracked in a studio too... you see that in the directors cut.
Pompeii. Mount Vesuvius erupted over 2000 years ago and buried the roman population in Pompeii. When they excavated the site, most of the population were perfectly preserved in their death postures making it a wonder for historians as they could see what the city was doing at the moment of death. Cool place to visit!
Live at Pompeii. I think it was actually in Greece somewhere but this was the highlight of my then 15yr old's listening experience. Black hash and Echoes on the Walkman . Quel Supreme.
Yes yes yes, we are on the star ship now. Musicians who know what their doing. The funky beat, drums, and keyboards are sick as F&^k. Pure jazz at it's finest. Rock on bro!!
I was serving on HMS Ulster in 1973, sitting on the walk ashore playing Echoes on my new portable cassette player fishing for mackerel with a length of line, a safety pin for a hook and a piece of silver paper for bait, another sailor walked behind me and said, "hey do you hear the submarine?", Lol, I didn't crack a light, I just said, "Yeah, submarines" :)
When mount vesuvius erupted in 79AD and buried the town of pompei. That jam session you could imagine all the people running for thier lives and the chaos
The "crowd" was killed in 79 AD by pyroclastic flows and falling pumice after nearby Mt. Vesuvius erupted. Souxie and the Banshees does an amazing song about it called "Cities in Dust". Check it out.
That extended jam has got to be one of the best ever laid down in rock, and to think it was done LIVE. Saw the PF film dozens of times in the 70s at the old Harvard Square theater, in the days before home video and YT. Those drums, that bass, that guitar, those keys. Could never pick a favorite, but the thing is, you get ALL 4, chugging along together, relentlessly, at 200 MPH, like some mutant runaway train.
No crowd here, Pompeii is an uninhabited place due to the volcano's eruption in 79 b.C. Just them, their spectacular music, and the ancient ruins. Magic.
Have been enjoying your reviews and reactions to some great music. Echoes is a unique experience. Always glad to see others make that memorable trip to Echo Land and back.
"Where's it from?" Pink floyd that's where You do realize pink floyd record an album in the same studio next door to the beatles They're old (1965) They're an original band
You should also try "A Saucerful of Secrets" from the same video album "Live in Pompeii" - it is one of their earliest songs, from the second album actually, and on of the first songs with David Gilmore - and he sings like a god in this one!
Filmed in the ruins of Pompeii, Italy. Entire city was buried when Mt. Etna spewed ash and the "pyroclastic flow". Odd... Roger Waters (bassist) doesn't even show himself until 10:35.
I hope you’re still doing reactions! I just caught this a day or two ago but I’ve listened to Echoes ever since 1971 when it was released on Meddle. Definitely a masterpiece. I’m wondering if you have ever listened to Iron Butterfly’s In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida? It too is one track to one whole side of the album by the same name. I’d love to get your reaction please.
Someone pointed out that Nick Mason broke a stick , threw it and grabbed anew one and didn’t miss a beat, I checked and it’s true, you have to watch really close though
