It always amazes me how interviewers complain that Floyd takes so long to release albums. In the 70's they released 7 albums, technically 8 since the The Wall was a double. Very cool interview, thanks for posting this.
1. More 2. Zabriske Point 3. Ummagumma 4. Atom Heart Mother 5. Obscured by Clouds 6. Meddle 7. Dark Side of the Moon 8. Wish You Were Here 9.Animals 10. The Wall
21:00 Interesting that Gilmour resists Waters insistence on a concept album. In this case, Animals. Then The Wall after that. These albums are their most compelling work.
His, and the other members of the band, resistance is not of a concept album per se but the reoccurring concept that Waters wrote about. War, death, insanity etc... I've seen other interviews where their attitudes were "this again".
Yea...but i understand Waters in some way. Everybody is sitting around waiting for you to come up with something...ypu come up with something that is really you , really about what you think is important...and they put it right down. Rick Wright even said in one interview that their lyrics arent all that important in their music. And i know others contribiuted (or wanted to)in writing ...but he was really the men behind most ideas ever since Syd left
@oris. Too TRUE. She has caused him to lose a lot of fans with her petty attack on Roger via Twitter this year. They support the WEF 's war in and too. Thanks Polly. David had a great wife before.
^^this. Dave was giving polite but o-b-v-i-o-u-s cues, but the interviewer was either barely listening or wasn't nimble enough to adapt his line of inquiry. Still, good upload!
This sounds like Nicky Horne who thought he had the chance to premiere Animals on his radio show. The BBC pipped him to this which is why I ended up with the 2 disc test pressing in 1980. The pressing has a date stamp of 16 Dec 1976.
