You can see people actually having FUN, and not being a horde of anarchist "victims", busy with little else than "identifying" as this or that. Yep, I miss those days too.
The "Division Bell Tour" 23 years later STILL holds up to today's standards of how a concert is done. It's still is epic and would leave audiences of today in awe. #RIPRickWright
10:33 Polly's got some skills! And its Storm Thorgerson at 12:00 Its good to see Dave and Rick being silly. When I see them in videos they're shy and serious. RIP Rick, we all miss you! Is it just me or was Nick in a really bad mood whenever he was filmed? I haven't really noticed until this video, but everyone behind the scenes that make these amazing shows never get enough credit for what they do. But it sure does look like they have tons of fun. I wish I had a time machine to go to one of those shows
I don't think Nick really bothered about being filmed. You know him, he always comes up with some funny stuff... Maybe he was just shy or not as silly-face-making as the rest of the people.
That was my last concert as an young men , I will never forget. It felt like it was too short ,but in reality, I just enjoyed every moment, every note, God. I miss my young self, and those musical days 😕
Michael Torres I meant most impressive tour in the history of Rock in general! Live in Gdansk I saw him several times, if you consider that in 1994 the technology was obsolete compared to 2006 you realize the great effort has been made by all, then I think between 1988 and 1994 was the best of Dave Guitar period.
Giuseppe Piccirillo it was I went too earls court! I was there on the opening night when the seats fell down! I went back the following Monday and watched the most amazing show I've ever seen and will ever see in my life! I'm so glad I got that chance! My profile picture is the ticket from that show.; )
Having seen Floyd in 74 @ the Autostade in Montreal, 77 Animals @ the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, 87 @ Foxboro (2 shows) for Delicate Sound, and 94@ Foxboro for Pulse. Each had it's own outstanding elements. For sound, it was Delicate Sound, for the atmosphere is was 77 Olympic. Pulse was polished and well done but very packaged. All were excellent.
Literally, no exaggeration, the best produced and best sounding tour in history of any rock band. Hands down. The Pulse CD versions of some of the songs are even better than the DVD versions, ie. "Keep Talking" end solo, etc
Venues were selling quickly out of tickets or the Division Bel, tour and I managed to buy a ticket for Rotterdam, September 1994. That little excursion to Amsterdam, a few before the gig was quite an adventure. My head was still buzzing by the time I got to Feynord Stadium. I can still though very well remember the gig.
radio mindchatter Unfortunately the Houston show at Rice Stadium got rained out before the show was halfway through. Started off as a light rain and the red green and gold lasers were freezing the drops in midair but it gradually got worse and Gilmour paused then said in his proper British accent “I’m afraid we have to concede to the elements” and that was it.
Goose bumps many times watching this, so many memories of friends of the past. They crossed so many generations, I think there are a few golden ages of folks who appreciate their music. Seeing people taking in the full experience, no electronics, and just being in the moment every step of the way is refreshing to see.
Willhem Meyenberg I was at their Division Bell tour when it came to Houston at Rice Stadium. It was an outdoor venue at nighttime. About halfway thru the show a front came thru first with a gentile mist or light rain shower. The green, red and yellow lasers appeared to freeze the raindrops in front of you. The storm intensified to the point they had to stop the show at least 45 minutes early. Gilmour announced in his proper English accent “I’m afraid we have to concede to the elements “.
@@ricklewis5804 The same thing happened at the Soldier's Field in Chicago, but only during the laser show,,, It only went on for maybe 15 minutes. Spectacular
Apparently Wright was a mad sex addict and constantly got caught cheating on his wives. This happened so often that eventually he made another girl pregnant, his then wife walked in on them in bed in his yacht in old tax avoider's Monaco and then he just emotionlessly left his wife (who nearly had a breakdown) for that girl. He then also just walked out on that girl not much later. He got his lawyers to claim he was only worth $200,000 at the time so he didn't have to pay his divorced wife much out of his hundreds of millions. He was also a big coke-head even into old age. Unfortunately he sounded like a massive lying and slimy douchebag to me. Seems like the more you learn about the individuals who made up Floyd, they all come across as weirdos and assholes.
I was at the first night in Cleveland OH........@ Cleveland Municipal Stadium VIP....13th row center stage right. It was a record breaking attendance for a concert at this venue, at just under 65,000 people in attendance. What a show, one of my buddies hooked it up with10 strip of some white blotter as he just got back from West Coast Grateful Dead tour before we headed to Cleveland...that Redroof Inn will never be the same ⚡
Like many of us I have seen some of the best artists in concert ever, from Clapton to Sammy Hagar, Aerosmith, Skynrd and just about everything in between but hands down Pink Floyd was my favorite by far and loved the others bu Floyd is in a class by itself. I saw the Division Bell tour at their Veterans Stadium stop in Philadelphia June 1994. Amazing and a night I’ll never forget
i am a new zealander and that is where i live but in 1994 i was living in holland and my girl friend at the time gave me the belgian show as a birthday gift, it was my very first concert, and kind of ruined concerts and birthday gifts from then on . no concert will top that (it hosed down that night, but it didnt matter) and well, may as well bother with birthday gifts after that haha
Man, my youthful choice to go to countless concerts, including several Pink Floyd shows, seems to have been one of the wisest choices of my life. I’m so thankful.
I like how raw this collection of clips is. No narration, no displaying people’s names. There is a good trust of fan’s intelligence to enjoy the clips as they are.
See this tour in London it will live with me forever. I can't believe I'm going to die and not see Pink Floyd play live again. Even if they did tour I probably wouldn't be able to afford a ticket only the rich will have access to a show the real fans will be priced out.
@@sea-dawg True Chad. But tell me why I would not think twice about going to see bands like Pink Floyd Genesis The Rolling Stones Led Zeppelin and The Who back in the day? If and when these bands tour now you would get no change out of a thousand pounds for a couple to have a night out at one of these concerts. Most of the people who go to see these top end bands now are just rich people who probably don't even own one of their albums. Maybe I should have worded my comment differently. You have to be rich to see bands like this. Anyway how much you worth that my comment put your back out? And how would you feel if you was priced out of a night out to see Floyd? By bigger fish. There's always people out there with more money to burn. If Pink Floyd ever toured again maybe you could treat me to a pair of tickets. And if I win the lottery in the meantime I will treat you to a pair of tickets how's that sound mate?
Best phase of Pink Floyd after "The Wall". Richard was finally back and he was allowed to do his stuff and all Pink Floyd fans know he was able to do amazing stuff when required.
What a shame Earls Court is lost to an expensive housing development (like London needs more multi-million pound flats). I was there in 1994, on the very the night the arena seating at the rear of the auditorium collapsed.
@@samuelluria4744 I don't need to know what they did afterwards: that kind of display is imbecilic, show-offish and teenage-like in itself (whether they tidied up the place afterwards or not) - I'm not talking about what they did afterwards but about what's being actually done before the camera: there's no room for benefit of doubt.
mancebo7 - True. I myself would never act like that. But in a world of 8 billion, don't we _need_ a few imbeciles? Could be I'm wrong...just thinking out loud, off the cuff.
@@samuelluria4744 I wouldn't say we need them... but I'm willing to live with the fact that they're around us and we have to cope with that. I just hoped we wouldn't have to have them within the inner circle of one the world's greatest bands, known for the politeness, civility and good manners of their band members throughout the years...
God I wish I could have seen a show on that tour. I doubt there will ever be another concert experience like that. Imagine how the crowd with all the cell phone filming today would have missed out on enjoying the music in the moment and the entire sensory experience.
Brian Cardina, I was at the Carter/ Finley stadium in Raleigh. Also, just turned 21...I agree with what anybody who saw them on that tour, “The Best Concert Experience of my Life!!!”
@@lucyfloyd16 i was at Earls Court too.. ;- P the evening after the seating went down in the middle of opener 'Shine On..' bit nervy as a consequence, but was one of the best nights of my life.. \m/ x
This mini behind-the-scenes docu should bookend all tribute docu to Rock's most enduring and greatest band: PINK-FN-FLOYD! The part at the end where "High Hopes" played on the background at the exit of the concert where people were still massed around after the concert seemingly hesitant to go, gives me chills and tears: a metaphor how we can't believe and refuse to believe that an heretofore-unforeseen and never-can-be-seen-again era of music's glorious history has closed with the setting of PINK FLOYD'S sun! RIP Rick...
I understand Durga worked as Assistant to one of my family (a CEO) in London after her spell with Floyd on this tour. Her voice does the very same to me too - UTTER chills. mad respect to the lady. rest in Peace, Rick. gone but NEVER possibly forgotten - the work you put into Pink Floyd gives you LEGENDARY status, chap. say hey to Syd for us all, and enjoy the afterlife 'til you return. one love. x
I saw them in Rotterdam , the Netherlands, 3 sept 1994. Great music, epic show. Most impressive concert ever I have seen. Still every week I look back parts of this concert on youtube.
October 1994 earls court..... Still is the greatest musical experience i have ever seen....and its now 2020......ive seen the best and legendery bands around....but floyd are a different ball ground ..no touching them
Agreed 😊👪 Do you happen to know if the adorable little boy in the green shirt is his son and which one? The same one that appears at 2:09? And also who the rest are? Both ladies look like they could be his wives...
Hello everyone. I’ve got a doubt: Does anybody know why David Gilmour used to name “Roger Waters” in almost every speech in the performances at Earls Cort?
This video was post on July 2nd 2015. July 2nd 2005 was the final Reunion with all the members of Pink Floyd. July 2nd is my birthday. One of my greatest birthday gifts i ever had.
No more division Bell no more separating us so we can fight against each other over stupidity while you lawmakers do what you want no more you know we are party of one or one
