Some people hear the music, and some people feel the music, You young lady not only hear it you definitely feel it, and there is no better experience than Pink Floyd, I love the journey it takes me on, and to see your reaction brought tears just seeing how it touched you as it did me. I hope you keep going down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole

Un hombre con esa sensibilidad para crear y transmitir su música tiene que ser un super humano. Por eso no es raro que haya donado la venta de su colección de guitarras. Un ser especial el señor Gilmour.

45 here, listening to Pink Floyd religiously since I was 14. Don’t see my taste in music ever changing to something that Pink Floyd and David Gilmore aren’t a part of. My favorite band, my favorite singer, my #1 in a top 10 guitarist list by far, several favorite songs, and mostly, their music makes me feel something. There’s a big difference in listening and liking a song versus truly feeling every note played and sung.

Olavity, I loved your reaction so very much. We Floydians enjoy watching your generation find our music. The word I would explain that bows my knee to Floyd music is heavenly. I can only think this is the type of after life I'll experience while moving from here to there. Peaceful, romantic love of a new order that fills you with peace; pure honest peace. Floyd music is a symphony concert that no other band has ever attempted because of the unique voice of David and the band.His voice is heavenly. I was at the 1975 Pittsburgh concert for our 1975 graduation party. I sat next to this beautiful girl for the whole show. All we could do is hold hands and gaze at each other in awe. It was one of my life's pivotal moments that has tied me and my bests friends together FOR LIFE. For me the Pulse concert is the best but you must explore your own journey and pick your favorite songs. Believe me, there is a ton of songs to fall in love with and listen to for your very young and beautiful life. PS, I never saw that girl again as I went into the Marine Corp days after this concert. I think of her a lot with love.

This is a beautiful song, and I'm so happy you're exploring Pink Floyd. There are a number of great Pink Floyd songs that will transport you also: from Pulse, check out "Time," which also features the beautiful voice of keyboardist Richard Wright. Also, for a vocal performance that stands out in its own musicality, listen to the studio version of "The Great Gig in the Sky" (listen to it before a live version); I don't think you'll be disappointed. Thank you for reacting to this!

Every song you hear from Pink Floyd will be something like you've never heard before. The reason for that is because Pink Floyd is their own genre!! Nobody else sounds like them and they sound like no one else! Every time you listen to the next Pink Floyd song it will be unexpected! Believe me most of us felt the same way you do right now when we first heard Floyd!!!!! And the Pulse Blu-ray is worth owning!!

I never tire of watching reactions from younger generations discovering the value of Pink Floyd for their musicianship and lyrical value. Unfortunately young lady you will now be inundated with recommendations by Floydians on how to correctly introduce yourself to their huge selection of music. My recommendation is to just dive in and sort them out as you will. They all bring different feelings and emotions to everyone that is affected by them. I will now suggest reacting to "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" from the album version first, and not the official video either as the music must not be affected by the visual senses. I look forward to your reactions.

This song is so beautiful, and a bit bittersweet. Looking back on my (so far) 65 years, this is exactly how it feels - the light was brighter, the taste was sweeter, with friends surrounded ... sadly, many now missing. This is one of the songs I've picked for my own memorial service, it's just perfect. Great reaction! I'm really enjoying seeing you discover this band of all bands. For a high energy piece, try One of These Days, from the same concert. It features the bass and really gets the place rocking.
@RushfanUK

With every year that passes it seems to be more relevant, I'm into my 60's now and it always has me looking back to those dreams and ambitions and the way in which life changes all of those, also as you mention the loss of so many friends, my best mate for the last 30 odd years died in 2018.
@TheFremenBlue
@TheFremenBlue 8 месяцев назад
@@RushfanUK I agree completely, Gilmour absolutely nailed the melancholy of it all. Not that I go around feeling sad all the time, far from it, but those moments where, as you say, you take a look back and ponder how things went and remember the people you've known, yeah, this song captures it perfectly. Sorry you lost your best mate, I still have 3 friends from college that I see 2 or 3 times a year (we're getting together this weekend, actually), but my family has some empty seats around the dinner table at holidays now. I understand my parents and grandparents a lot better these days. Anyway, cheers to you! I'm grateful we have this music which, as you say, seems more relevant with each passing year. Shine On!

You rock girl. It's sexy as hell knowing you play they keys. As for Pink Floyd they are arguably one of if not the greatest bands. For me it's Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd then there's everyone else. Judas Priest, Scorpions, Aerosmith, Dio, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Rainbow, Deep Purple, ok back to Pink Floyd you should react to The Wall the full album one side at a time. Because that's the only way to really understand the meaning of the songs on that album. Other suggestions would be wish you were here, shine on you crazy diamond, Time, Pigs, it's really best to react to full album sides with pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin because the songs tie into each other and the experience is much better when you can put together the context and the message that's being expressed through the music. There's no better way to really feel and hear the music, That's the way we herd it for the first time. Side one drop the needle crank it up as high as you could. Sit back in a beanbag chair do a couple of bong hits and get into every song. Flip the record to side 2 and repeat. That's the way albums were ment to be played. Try it sometime I'm sure you will agree

An extremely emotional and poignant track, it is off their underrated Division Bell album, it is a Floyd Masterpiece indeed. We were as crazy for them back then and would go anywhere to see them, a Pink Floyd concert was a religious experience! Next do Echoes live, in their prime, in 1972 at Pompeii in the ancient Roman amphitheater. Unreal scene and a vibe like no other, you will freakout! Enjoy 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

Great reaction and choice of your 2nd Pink Floyd song. I'm glad you looked into the lyrics of this one. Pink Floyd songs have fabulous lyrics, and they usually have a deeper meaning. So my "high hopes" are that you continue looking into Pink Floyd lyrics when you react to them. Just about any Pink Floyd song you choose for your next reaction will take you to the same place, and you will appreciate the song even more if you understand the brilliance of their lyrics.

'High Hopes', to me, summarises the loss of the optimism of youth, when we are young, beautiful, surrounded by beautiful friends, all of us full of hope and promise... Years pass, we lose touch, ambition takes over, and we look at the bridges we burned, the paths we did not take, the choices we did not make, the mistakes we made, the friends we have lost, through neglect or death. All of this at the age of 64 I have seen, and this song resonates deeply with me. For Pink Floyd, the greatest masterpiece (to me), among many is the whole of the much earlier album 'Dark Side of the Moon'. It is about life, death, madness, the passing of time, greed.... it's probably (my opinion only of course) one of the greatest albums ever made by anyone, and despite its age (it was released 1973) it still feels current.

A word of warning: when you listen to Pink Floyd for the very first time, your perception of music that you’ve grown up listening to will never be the same again. I'm a 71yo Rocker. Bought Pink Floyd "Dark Side Of The Moon" day it came out 1973. Best album ever to lay back with headphones and a Tupperware bowl full of Panama Red ($150 per pound back then ) and a bottle of Crown Royal. I could melt into that music. Those were the days. I still have my vinyl copy.

I would like to recommend, Coming back to life, from the Pulse album. You will absolutely love this song. David Gilmore's guitar at the beginning is brilliant.

Sorrow, Run Like Hell, and Great Gig In The Sky are all great choices from the same Pulse concert. You'll see why Run Like Hell is the finale. Enjoy.

Well, let me put it like this: I am a PF-Fan for like 30 years now (started early on..) and I have probably listened to most of their live recordings, official and bootlegs. PULSE is a phenomenal album and I rank it highly among my fav PF-ones. (yeah I know its a live-recording...) Wish you were here, Dark Side, Pulse. You might wanna note, that this version and the whole album is..heavy edited...overdubbing afterwards and piecing stuff together from different concerts. The real 'live' exists, so if anybody wants to compare it to the PULSE edit.. ;) Some people prefer the raw one, other slike the edited version. HOWEVER, if you feel REALLY moved by this one, you HAVE TO try the version from the Gdansk concert, it was David Gilmour's (lead guitarist and singer in this one) solo-tour in 2006 and at that special place where the polish people went on strike (dockyard), so it's quite special to them and also a symphony orchestra accompanied the band. It is generally agreed upon (in die-hard PF circles), that the version I just mentioned is the best iteration of this song and THIS time its truly LIVE. ;) It's just...even more pitch perfect (like I said, I have listened to..maybe ALL David Gilmour live recordings of this one?!) and it has smth special which I won't spoiler. Link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--bbgNn4TWPU.html I have heard so much PF over all those years...this one gets me every single time...try it and you know why. Btw, their most famous song, Comfortably Numb is mostly suggested in the PULSE version. I ask everyone to see the Gdansk version of that one for themselves...imho it's better than the edited PULSE one. (except for the light show, but well..) You should really check out that version I linked, probably a lot of people suggest a lot of their favorite ones for various songs. Well..trust me, THAT one IS special and I can'T tell you why, because it would spoiler a lot. Watch it til the end...and have fun. ;)

I love Pink Floyd and I love Nightwish. My dreams came true when Nightwish made a tribute to this song live, back in 2005, with Marko on vocals. The entire performance of the song just vibes and feels like Pink Floyd. They have the same "tone" if You know what I mean? This song takes you back to the simple life of childhood. The fun and friends and wonders of life. It is very emotional and heart felt. True mastery of song writing and capturing that past life we all lived before adulthood took it all away.

David Gilmour " Live at Gdansk" same song has a acoustic solo added at the end with his DB Martin Actually there is a least 40 songs like this.next ; "Great Gig in the Sky' 'sorrow" "Shine on you Crazy Diamonds", Pink Floyd is so far from rock&roll or metal. Saw them 7 times. Watch you will not see the audience stand , Only the last song " Run Like Hell" when the used all their 200,000 watts of power. Outdoor shows needed FAA air clearance for the lasers, Their name came from 2 jazz players Pink Anderson & Floyd Council

Yes it is a magnificent song. There is an even more moving and incredible live version that David (guitar and lead singer) and Richard (keyboards) did in Gdansk shortly before Richard passed away. In that performance they use the entire string section of the Polish Orchestra, and David's solo on the steel guitar is phenomenal, but he does the end section of acoustic guitar that is like being serenaded by an Angel, with the strings in the background - it is incredibly moving: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rU_k8BNCcOM.html (High Hopes - David Gilmour live @ Gdansk 2006) You didn't want it to end, well this one in Gdansk goes on longer.... The band isn't always sweet and ethereal - this one was produced in 1971, you might say they were also pioneers of metal, with a techno, psychedelic bent: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CK_BcyKOAt4.html (Pink Floyd - One Of These Days (PULSE Restored & Re-Edited))

With this beautiful and sometimes sad song, Pink Floyd paid yet another tribute to the legendary Syd Barret. You can see this by watching the official video of the song. Having said that, I am delighted to see young people listening to Floyd..., good and congratulations.
