Out of all the reactions I've watched of this video, you are the only person who has picked up on the Dr Who reference 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻

I don't know which brought me more joy: "Is...is that a pig?!" or your entire face when the 'Dr. Who' theme snuck in. Thank you for both, though!

In the Dr Who episode 'Caretaker', Peter Capaldi kind of homages Floyd by whistling 'We don't need no education' from Another Brick in the Wall. Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy author Douglas Adams also paid homage to PF by altering the ending of an episode to feature the intergalactic rock band 'Disaster Area', based on Floyd and in particular, the track 'Set The Controls for the Heart of the Sun'. Adams actually played guitar on stage with PF at one of the Pulse gigs and if you're a HHG fan, it was his 42nd birthday:). Adams also once worked as script editor on Dr Who.

Thanks for the like:). BTW, I did notice a little cut in drummer Nick Mason's line 'One of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces'. Was that to avoid YT strikes?.

The pigs refer back to the album "Animals", there's a flying pig on the album cover. 3 main long songs - Dogs, pigs and sheep. Unlike Dark Side you can listen to each song separately.

The whole Pulse concert is amazing. (As for the Dr. Who references, the bass player here, Guy Pratt, does talk about that on his RU-vid channel, so it was deliberate). I suggest reacting to 'Sorrow' from Pulse next. Pink Floyd as a band was retired in 2014 (their keyboard player died in 2008). I did see David Gilmour (the guitarist and lead singer) perform solo in 2016 when his tour came through Chicago. He was 70 years old and still sounded amazing. You can see some of his concerts here on RU-vid if you search for 'David Gilmour, Live from Pompeii, 2016." He still does a big light show. If you do a David Gilmour Pompeii 2016 reaction, I suggest either 'Comfortably Numb' or 'In Any Tongue.'

Cool, i saw the Pulse tour june 14, 1994 in ames, iowa. It. Was. Freakin. Awesome. Its the concert by which i judge all others.

@@MW-sw7so I wish I had been aware of Pink Floyd back then! I'm from Iowa, too (Decorah) and June 14 is my birthday! I was a junior in high school that year and was following all of the Top 40 pop music at the time, though. So cool you got to see that show!

@@sarastromseth-troy3323 yeah, i was 21, i was badass. I cant believe how good it sounded for being outside, and ill tell ya, there is no video that can recreate the vivid colors of the lasers properly. They were way brighter, colors richer. The beginning o "Sorrow" where the synthesizer hits the low notes, my lantlegs were shaking like those loud car stereos with bass. The concert was decently loud, but it didnt hurt your ears. If your facing the south endzone of the stadium(where stage was), i was on the first deck up about 4 sections back(a little higher than the stage). There is a video on youtube of it but of course it sounds bad. I still have my ticket stub and every now and then at family get togethers i "accidentally" let it fall out of my wallet in front of my younger brothers (who can emulate David Gilmour on guitar pretty damn good) who then flip me off in unison!!🤭🤭☮👋😁👍 nice chattin whicha.

The thing that listeners miss by not being there was that it all came through their quadraphonic sound system powerful enough for an Olympic sized stadium. I was there.

Echoes from the album Meddle is probably their best song. Try the studio version first because all of the subtleties get lost while playing live. Don’t forget the excellent album Animals. It’s a concept album, like many PF albums; to understand the story, play the songs in order.

The original song doesn't have the Dr Who solo part, just an instrumental piece that sounded very similar. A lot of folk at the time it was released & long after suggested one was a rip off of the other... But Pink Floyd & the creator of Dr Who knew each other well, and I think all parties involved agreed it would be fun for them to play the Dr Who theme during this tour, just as a wee way to troll all the speculators.

Looking forward to your Dark Side of the Moon reaction. I think you'll be impressed. Now you know you can't pigeonhole this band. Instrumentalist one minute, jazz bluesy melancholy Rock, the next. Psychedelic. Theatrical. Their albums are rich Sonic experiences, and some of the best concept albums ever produced, as you are about to find out with Dark Side. Btw, I was at this concert at Soldier Field in Chicago 1994 and the sound comes at you a full 360° around the stadium. So you not only hear everything but the sound goes through you. The visuals and light shows remain unrivaled nearly 30 years later!! This band is the full package. This tour in 1994 was their last. But there are a couple of imitation bands that tour the world playing their music. One of the best... Brit Floyd, played Chicago this weekend at the famed Chicago theater as their official post pandemic reopening. Filled the place.

If you want to react to The Dark Side of The Moon, you are correct that you should do it in one sitting. However, for reacting....I would do that album in two parts: First reaction, would be Speak To Me, Breathe (In The Air), On The Run, Time, The Great Gig In The Sky" There is a natural break and that was the end of the first side of the record. Second reaction could be Money, Us & Them, Any Colour You Like, Brain Damage, Elclipse. (That album is great if you wear headphones.)

Those were hogs, it's a throw-back to their 1977 Animals album cover. On the cover of the album there is a giant inflatable pig flying or hovering over a power plant. Pink Floyd have used pigs and hogs in some way at most all their concerts, pigs and planes! Every Pink Floyd concert is a Performance, it's a Show, it's an Event! I saw them in 1980 at the Coliseum in Uniondale Long Island, NY. It was The Wall Concert Tour, it was incredible! A plane flies from the back roof of the venue, and crashes into the stage and explodes! That was the opening of the Show. The flying Pig from the Animals album was hovering around over the audience. There was also 35 foot tall inflatable animated character puppets walking ominously across the stage! If you listen to The Wall album, which is a live performance of The Wall, that was recorded. At the very beginning, you'll hear the plane crash into the stage at the end of the opening song. Yeah, Pink Floyd was a very Special band. They're attention to detail, and their patience in the production is off the charts! They performed their last show in 2006, they were formed in London in 1965. David Gilmour, the singer and guitarist played as recently as 2016, doing Pink Floyd music, and his own music. There are many videos on RU-vid of that concert.

Dark Side of the Moon syncs with the Wizard of Oz movie when started from a certain point . Have never tried it myself lol . You might have to react to the album in one go but split into 2 or 3 videos due to copyright. Some reactors get away with it in one video but is unusual. Dark Side of the Moon is regarded as a masterpiece , contender for best album ever . Has sold close to 50 million copies

Love your pf reactions. You really seem to get the vibe. I would suggest to ignore the wizard of Oz comments for now. It it just a coincidental alignment where certain transitions from DSOTM seem to happen at the correct times to work well with the movie. I must admit, it does fit, but it's nothing more than coincidence. Anyone with enough time on their hands could find any movie that would sync to an album. PF's 4 concept albums are all truly amazing but as a 'beginner' I would suggest that you continue with songs from their "pulse" concert.

Yes definitely tackle DSOTM in two parts (side 1 / side 2) Do the original audio but definitely definitely definitely have the lyrics to hand. Roger Waters doesn't write lyrics unless he has something to say and that can get really deep.
