@@TheGuitarEffect it’s kinda shot me in the foot, a friend and I, myself on bass, him on the kit have been helping out some older players with very little live experience. I play lead guitar in a resident band at The Diamond, Sutton-In-Ashfield and various tribute acts. Whilst rehearsing with the old guys for tonight’s gig, I borrowed a guitar during a break from the set list we’re learning, just to see what the patches sounded like at gig volume, plugged in through my FRFR and the PA. It sounded HUGE. Now they want me too learn the track fully and jump off bass for a couple of tracks😀😀😝😝. I’ve told them it will interfere with my beer too much.👍👍👍. Thanks for that mate! As I said I don’t dislike Floyd just never really got into them. I was thinking about the question of “what do I listen to” and I really have a very narrow non varied taste in music!!! Which is probably a bad thing for a songwriter!! I love grunge. Teen spirit came out and literally changed the world when I was 14 so that massively shaped my taste in music. Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots. I listen to all their records all the time. Played in a PJ tribute band for about 6 or 7 years. Then I also am a huge fan of Depeche Mode. They are probably the biggest influence on my own music. Love most of Radiohead’s stuff too. Not so much the last album but most stuff up to that. The last band that really pulled me in was a band from the UK called Band of Skulls. Their album Sweet Sour is outstanding. Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead is definitely my favorite guitarist. Best guitarist to ever pick up the guitar in my humble opinion!!

Hi Ray. Thx for commenting. I actually don’t know the answer to that. Have you tried downloading them and seeing if you can load them onto the pod go and then just add an amp model? I don’t have a pod go or a Helix so I can’t answer that I’m afraid.

Hey. So short answer is yes. The HX EFFECTS comes shipped with loads of presets. And there is a forum on the line6 website where you can download endless presets for it. Including all my presets!!! 😉 The HX effects is an awesome piece of kit. There’s very little It can’t do. I’m f you want to know more about it I have a playlist about it with a lot of videos. Check it out it might be of interest

Just looked on the tones forum... and when I search by "HX Effects"... looks like they are only about 280 presets users have shared in 4 years. Unless I'm missing something.

May we’ll be the case. Don’t think I’d ever be able to get through that many presets myself! With regard to the Kemper you could use 4 cable method and put the gain effects in front and the rest of the effects in the loop it would work great.

Hey Frann. Thx for the comment. Yep that’s exactly how I have it running now. You can also move the loops around the signal chain in a preset by preset basis. I’ve a good few videos on the functionality of the HX effects if you want to know more about it. Particularly the recent one where I compare it with the Boss MS3 might be of interest.

@@TheGuitarEffect That's exactly what I'm looking for! Now, what about all long cables running through each connection? Does the tone decrease because of that or the hx effects acts like a buffer to increase signal?

There’s a send and return level control for each loop so no problems there.

I actually tried a Helix LT before and made a video about it. I really liked it tonally but it couldn’t do the switching I needed.

OK thanks, I really can't make my mind up whether to give HX a go, I have just started with pedals and find it a pain getting all the volumes etc right, the idea of just setting some presets up snapshots and then leaving them alone is appealing.

What type of music do you play and with what guitar abs amp?

@@TheGuitarEffect I'm only really an intermediate player. But I like all sorts, Pink Floyd specially, but the Usual rock..Acdc, Green Day Foo fighters etc. I'm playing Blackstar HT20 mkii atm. I play a Strat mainly.

Ok. Cool. I would very much consider myself an intermediate player too but I do gig covers and originals as well as make videos and write and record music at home. So I should probably make a video about this but here’s why I think the HX effects is the perfect solution for the home player. Basically the economy of scale with the effects you get for the money can’t be beaten. To get 10 pedals that are gonna give you a comprehensive board to do what you want to do you are probably looking between €800 - €1000. The HX effects (or any multi effects unit) beats that hands down in terms of bang for buck. The effects are all of a very high quality. The only thing I’d possibly add would be a whammy for actual picked octave stuff, I do t think it nails that but for pedal pitch bending it’s totally great. All other effects (including distortion) are very impressive. What I would recommend is utilizing the amp channel switching for your clean and dirty sounds and use one effects loop for 4 cable method and one loop for an extra dirt or fuzz pedal and that way you can change levels of clean and dirty sounds and it will be consistent on every preset. Does that make sense. If you watch my basic sounds on the HX effects video I cover off a lot of this. I’d just go buy it mate. It’s a class piece of gear.

Hey. I translated your comment thx. So this is all a perception thing really. To me once you start putting compressors and chorus on out of phase strat sounds it all starts to sound a bit plastic and 80s anyway🤷‍♂️. I don’t take any offense to your comment as I’m not a big Pink Floyd fan as I mentioned in the video several times. So I’m not an authority on there’s sounds but they worked perfectly well for my friend that needed them.

Wow. He’s Irish and speaks Hiberno English, the rules of the queens English do not apply here. You know Ireland had it’s own language before we became a colony? This haitching is a distinctive feature of Hiberno-English, one that may have originated as an a hypercorrection but is now the norm in most Irish dialects.

@@trixeyfox Part of me finds that fascinating, and another part has a problem hearing many deviations from what might be considered more standard English pronunciation (never mind that the English butcher their own language on the regular). But in particular, the haitch thing sounds really bizarre.

@@ImYourOverlord Good to see we have an American be the arbiter of correct pronunciation! Hahaha. In good old Oz, I reckon we have a decent 50/50 split on the 'haich' and 'aich' train....both welcome and without judgement.
