With reference to the title of the album, worth remembering that the Floyd were asked to improvise by the BBC as background to the live images of the moon landings.
One thing I think I failed to express was that some of the music possibly was performed live with the famous circular back projector screen. A track like On the Run makes sense when you watch the film and see the bed/ spitfire or whatever it was crash into the stage. But granted does it work sans the visuals just on your hi fi? I dunno- but a lot of these albums and subsequent performances were interconnected in those days and made to be 'experienced.' I think I have just succeeded in trolling myself there!
