My son was arrested 6 years ago for protecting himself with his hands, no weapon, on his own property from a man with a gun my son beat him up my son got 6 years in prison for assault with great bodily harm he was 18 he's now 24 and I'm going to pick him up in 18 days I haven't been able to listen to this song for 6 years it was too painfull! I worried about him every second of everyday for 6 years, today I'm listening to my favorite PF song with happy tears he's finally coming home where he belongs!

This was me and my dad song. This was my ringtone on his phone. I moved across country with my mother when a teenager. It broke him, even when I moved back this was always my ringtone till he died. I knew this song would hit hard when he pass. A year after his passing I got “wish you were here” tattooed on my forearm as a tribute to him. This song will always be my favorite song. Driving home once on a hard day and another Pink Floyd song came on the radio and I thank god it wasn’t wish you was here. I pulled in my driveway and turned the radio station for some reason, and the song had just started the very beginning of intro, I knew it was my dad. Broke me down.

Pain both physical and mental can cause us to feel ways we are not meant to feel, cause us to think things that we aren't meant think! Suicide just moves all the pain you are feeling to the ones that love you the most and they can never get rid of that pain and they experience of loss everyday. When people get that low often you will hear them say I won't wish this feeling on my worst enemy but yet the act of suicide is wishing it on everyone you know. In saying that, God loves you and whatever you are facing, put your faith in God and let him show you the way, the truth and the light, God changed my life, saved me multiple times and he can do the same for you. Chin up, look forward and move to a better place in life that is just waiting you.

Its quite inspiring how this song is not even written about literally losing someome through love or death, but about not trying to lose yourself and keep being engaged instead of passive, originally. Joris van Dijk Listened to this song for many many years and just caught what the line means about walk on part and lead role. I had sang it hundreds of times and even read the lyrics. I was 15 and now 49 and when my uncle keg (Craig) and my best friend tried to get me on to pink floyd I was having none of it because I was a soul man and house and hip hop man but we used to smoke and go camping and take a few mushrooms and listen to the music sat by the fire and eventually the penny dropped and my uncle died in 1990 and I miss him so much but he used to love this song and he would play it on his guitar and here I am 2021 almost finished 30 years later and still wish you were here keg love Jamie x

Today, on a beautiful Memorial Day morning, my wife and I went to the cemetery where my father, mother and brother are buried. We cleaned off the grave markers and placed flowers and flags by them and said a little prayer about how much we love them, missed them and honored their lives. I appropriately wore my Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" t-shirt.

Lost my best friend and first true love to suicide a year ago, and then a couple days ago, on the 1 year day of her suicide, her boyfriend committed suicide, and the note he left behind was only addressed to me. He said, and I quote; "You will find someone who you can't live without. When you find her, hold on to her and show her what she means to you, even through the hardships she has." I found that certain someone four months before him committing suicide, and she was in mental therapy. As of three days before he died, she was told, thanks to some new factor stepping in four months ago, she is free to release herself from therapy. Lost my mom 4 years ago. Never told her everything I wanted to say. If you have someone you can't live without, let her/him know how important she/he is for you.

My cat died today. She was my everything. I gave her all the love I kept bottled inside for years and now she's gone and I don't know what to do with all the love I have left. Life is heavy today. I found her two years back when I was at my lowest point in life and she was just there so little and so scared and I gave her my all. She saved me and sadly today I couldn't save her. P. S.
