Pink Moon - Nick Drake Cover 

Vincent Blackligtning 1952 ... just in my opinion, slightly humbled...

I came across Josh's videos a few months ago and I'm also a huge fan. YT is flooded with musicians of all levels, but there are tons of talented people to discover, but not many can compel me to return to their channel(s). Covering a tune and making it your own is a specific talent, and Josh has that gift. I've been playing guitar and playing in bands for 30+ years, playing both originals and covers. And I wish I had some small measure of the talent that Josh has. Even melancholy songs can be a source of joy and catharsis and you can tell that Josh cares about what he does, and seems to nail it pretty much every time.

Josh would be very deserving of a CGP.

He only has performed in public once or twice. He was widely rejected by the community and the majority of people didn't fancy his type of music.

In fact Nick Drake has made around twenty concerts. According to Robert Kirby his best performance was may be the first or second of his performances. He was in the first part of the a Sandy Denny concert. He also performed in the legendary London Cafe concert " Les Cousins" in 1970, one evening with John Martyn ( Not in duet).

every night of every camping trip ive been on since 2014 has ended with Nick Drake. On one special occasion, a buddy was hearing it for the first time, and was blown away. I was made so happy by this that i had to tell someone, so i emailed Nick's estate and told them the story. A few days later his sister Gabrielle responded and told me that she believes Nick is very happy to see so many people discovering his music. I still smile every time i think of it.

So so cool, and glad to find out that she is the type of person to do something like this. She seems nice in interviews and the documentary but you always wonder what a person's really like.. Makes me happy he grew up in such a nice family. Yet it makes one wonder even more--about what could have been.... ...

Hey! since you're a radiohead fan, thought I'd give you a heads up -- I've started a 'Mindful Music' Series where I'm taking a mindfulness approach to giving critical listens to some musical gems and reviewing them afterwards. I started with Radiohead's "Weird Fishes" and just did Nick Drake's Pink Moon last week -- thought I'd share - Cheers! :)

The 15 series martins have that darker sound because of the mahogany top. This is my guess why he'd use it instead of his sitka/rosewood 28 series.
