GIA Grad + Founder and Front Man of F&B Michael walks us through a breakdown of Pink Sapphire gemstones. He is able to answer frequently asked questions about the pink gemstone. If you're into deep vivid pink gemstones then you're in for a treat. Also, did you know pink sapphires and red rubies are made of the same mineral? Enjoy!
Be sure to tune-in the upcoming weeks for more in-depth educational "Geminars" where Michael will dive deeper into specific types of colored gemstones.
Enjoy!

I think you forgot to say the heat will also change and improve the clarity. But great job! Loved watching. 😁👍🏻✨💎✨

What do you think about gemstones as a possible hedge against inflation and corruption?

Michael from FAB...how can I tell if I really have a pink sapphire and not pink tourmaline? Also, is it difficult to change out the stone to one with better grade? I have a ring that I adore, accented with small diamonds and Australian opal... Am curious about improving it.

If a gemstone has fire and brilliance does that make it a sapphire?
@tranquility9325

No. Corundum makes it sapphire.

Almost all rubies according to my perception appear to be an intense, highly saturated hot pink, but people call them red. I don’t get how people see them as red. Garnets are red. rubies are hot pink/ruby. All of the rubies you showed here were still pink. pink sapphires are more of a light pink/fuschia. Most of of them that you pulled out were even purple. I guess to some people pink is called red and purple is called pink.

My ruby ring is definitely a red color. I have no problems distinguishing colors either lol.

How do you tell the difference between lab and natural? I was looking at some earrings and the price was nowhere near $5k 😕 I'd like to get the real deal, not some lab made bs

Lab created is the same chemical, optical, And physical properties. It's like you planting a tree inside your house. As it grows, it's the same as the tree outside. One was raised indoors and one was born outside. They are both a tree. The only difference is where it was born.

Looks t me that the natural stone s more evenly saturated? I believe that’s the right word? The lab grown looks extinct at the bottom. Anyone else think so? 🤷🏻‍♀️
