I saw Pinkard and Bowden in a small comedy club. My first impression was that they were too big for the room. They should have been playing to a much bigger crowd. Got all my friends to go see them.
Sounds like John Boy and Billy laughing. They were on their show a lot. I got to see these guys at the Comedy Club in Charlotte way back in the early 90s. Hilarious.
It's John Boy and Billy. They are known for their canned laughter bit. You can also hear them laugh on Porky Pig's Blue Christmas. Charles B. Is correct. They were frequently on WRFX with JB&B. I have also seen them at a comedy club in Charlotte years ago. One of the best comedy shows ever.
I just heard this for the first time tonight as I’m doing my closing work at a restaurant. I was thinking of linking it to my Facebook page but after listening to all of the lyrics I think too many people from the church I went to would be offended. But it’s really really funny.
It's said these guys were banned from the Nashville Network, even if they also wrote serious songs for singers like Anne Murray and Mel Tillis. They're to country what Weird Al is to pop.
Frankie Laine sang the title song for Blazing Saddles and hated the movie when he saw it. He threatened to sue, but Warner Brothers told him that he was hired to sing a song, and he did, and he was paid the agreed fee. "Bugger off," and he did.
You can Bob and Tom all you want. This particular track was from the John Boy and Billy Big Show. I was listening the day this was recorded and you can not mistake John Boys "Yeah!" at the end.
They also did “Help Me Make It Through The Yard” (based on Help Me Make It Through The Night. I think they also did “I Lobster But Then I Flounder.” And they did one about a satellite dish too but I can’t remember much about that one. Pinkard and Bowden were funny but not as commercially successful as Ray Stevens.
@@franksloane9579 Just checked. According the the weather report for Hell MI, the current temperature is 75° F. Perfect temp for me. Oh, and since I grew up and stopped believing in the Easter Bunny and Santa Clause with flying reindeer, belief in the devil and god went the same way.
