Music is the common thread that leads us to spend a few hours with the mandolin players of San Vito dei Normanni in the province of Brindisi. Both the elderly and the very young fill the air with plucked notes of this now unusual instrument. Until the 1950s, the barbers were the places where guitars, mandolins and mandolas were played. Now the Mandolin Club has revived the tradition "looking to the future with an ancient heart".
Young, old, professionals and amateur musicians play, exchange views and grow up, so that the village decorated with notes becomes even more beautiful.
E’ la musica il filo conduttore che ci porta a vivere qualche ora insieme ai mandolinisti di San Vito dei Normanni in provincia di Brindisi. Anziani e giovanissimi riempiono l’aria di note pizzicate di questo ormai inusuale strumento. Qui fino agli anni 50 le sale da barba erano i luoghi in cui si suonavano chitare, mandolini e mandole. Ora il Circolo Mandolinistico ha recuperato la tradizione «guardando al futuro con cuore antico».
Musicisti giovani e anziani, professionisti e non, suonano, si confrontano e crescono e il paese ornato di note diventa ancora più bello.
