Its a pity they didn't knurl the retaining ring that holds in the tap. Cheers for the video, it definitely is helpful.

Got my Pinter 2 during Covid Christmas. Finally got round to brewing the winter sun that came with it(a long sad story prevented me from using it). piece of piss till tapping beer everywhere, leaking tap collar 4 pints of froth to get a pint...however it tasted divine. @£1.50-£1.80 and such small batch brewing I might brew the 2nd winter sun then retire it to my brewing shed with demijohns, buckets and hydrometers. nifty gadget someone should up scale it

Pinter on their Facebook q&a posts answered the transport question, I think they mention keeping it in a position where it can’t move about, tumble or be damaged and letting it settle a good half day before tapping/pouring. I plan on doing this for New Years as mines not yet arrived for a Xmas brew :)

Yeah that's one of the points isn't it? Having to leave it half a day before tapping/pouring. Also, I still wouldn't risk it I don't think.

Thanks for uploading - videos are so helpful brewing and maintenance and love the humour! Going to get a brew on of Winter Sun so hoping for a result as good as Haus of Hops. Fingers crossed!

I made such a mess trying to find the 'slow flow' 🤣. I also found that while my tap doesn't fit over the side of the Pinter, it does fit over the tap hole when the tap is removed.

My pinter 2 has been delayed again!?! I love this company and their customer service for this matter but they keep changing the goal posts which is really starting to annoy me! I can’t wait to get my brew on!!

My least favourite aspect of Pinter ownership. I do similar to you, bit of nonspecific washing-up liquid and a right good rinse but then I'm generally straight to purifying and on with the next brew. Others in 'the group' seem to think there's no need for the soap phase, but I've always found getting rid of the gunk a distinct advantage. Will I really be able to retire my extra-thick handled wooden spoon!? 🤪

Brother, your mileage may vary, but seriously...I had to have a little sit down after getting the main cap off i was so overwhelmed 😂. As for the soap, how can it be clean if you don't use soap? That's like only using sanitser when your hands a full of mud. I'm completely with you. Soap all the way. 👌🏻

I got Tropical Debate on the go right now, finishes brewing Saturday then onot conditioning, so should be ready for Xmas :) How you find the carbonation level after a few days? As one of the original members of the kickstarter, am looking forward to enjoying this and not having to bottle it, in case it goes flat after couple days after first tapping

Dude, seriously. You can chill your beans when it comes to Elphaba's chest comparisons. The fact that you don't actually 'tap' in the sense of letting out all the built up CO2 before you pour a glass, means it all stays in until towards the end when you go towards 90° on the handle for that extra 'push'. Think more Robert Paulson. "His name, is...!" 😉👍🏻

@@MusingOfaMan Great stuff, bottling is ok, but gets boring, when would rather be drinking it lol. Like you Space Hopper is the best so far, but am looking forward to trying these new pinter2 brews. Im assuming with the new tap, it also helps with getting clearer brews, which didnt bother me, but watching the fb groups you would think it was life threatening lol.

Oh don't even. The amount of comments about clarity lead me to do a whole video on how to get your brew clearer with the a caveat at the beginning hinting heavily that it really doesn't matter. That said, the SH was much clearer in the P2. 😂

Does anyone else have a sloosh of water +somewhere+ inside their p2 after rinsing? It's taken me around 25 minutes (so far) of robust shaking to get a few drops out at a time

Yeah I know what you mean. Water does seem to collect 'within' the casing. Rather than shaking, try holding it at one angle and allow the water to trickle out. It can be a little frustrating but yeah, it can take some effort. That said, often I just ignore it and it doesn't affect the brew.
