@@Vanned. mixing with 2 tracks can be very 1 dimensional once you get into it. If I want to have a main track playing and play a vocal loop from a second song over the top, I can't transition into another track after that
@@djstuc yeah that’s fair enough man. I personally use turntables with phase and i love it that way. I also own a pair cdj2000nxs2 but I just keep them in road cases and get them out now and than. I like having both options.
@@oisin7644 Maybe im just not a controller person and im sure they’re fun to use. I like my turntables with phase too much. I take out my cdj2000nxs2 now and than when i want to mix things up a bit. One day i might get myself a controller : )
@@djstuc I wouldn’t do gigs with turntables, too much trouble to carry around. Cdjs or controller is definitely the way to go! I’ve posted a few videos on my channel. Check out my setup there, you might even like the mixes if you’re into rnb amd hip hop.
I notice how most open-format DJs continue to slam Pioneer for not having streaming on their units. I don't understand the hate. I did enjoy the features presented in this video. I also understand there is no such thing as a perfect unit. Yes, I am a Pioneer/Rekorbox user and I frown on their choices. What remains Pioneer is still the Industry Standard when it comes to DJ gear. I do like the RX3 even though the price is steep. Since I currently use the DDJ 800, the jog wheels on the RX3 are the same size. I love that. Also, it's a stand-alone with a bigger screen than the RX2. That's a plus in my book. With all the other features, I feel it is worth the price and since I am a House, Disco, and Techno DJ, I can work with it.
They just need to make a proper equivelent to the DDJ 200 through 1000 series and listen to what people want with those types of controllers and they would probably take over real quick haha
@@daan9994 I’ve been waiting for Denonnto release a DDJ1000 set competitor with SC6000 jogs and a mixer section from the X1850 with on board effects. Apparently Denon is just concentrating on engine
3:42 I think the reason they’ve decided to this is because it gives separate banks for 2 separate DJs when doing b2bs or a changeover. If you think about it, not many DJs use 2 usbs so I think this feature is better off the way it is personally🤷🏼♂️ Great video!
@@oisin7644 I’m just tired of these as*holes to only give us crumbs every few years man, and they always come with the same bullshit every time, a suboptimal product that was never intended to be use at its full capability
Great review. Wondering if the unit can be viewed on a external monitor. When I practice in the house I have a 75 inch TV that I eould like to use as a monitor. I'm wondering if it's possible to connect it my TV and practice with it?
Hey Crossfader Crew! First off, I have to give you guys mad props for your videos. I've learned a lot of my skillset as a DJ from watching your videos over the years. I have nothing but respect for you guys and love what you do with your channel so thank you! Now, I'm a serato pro dj who just purchased this controller and I'm switching from the DDJ-1000-SRT to the XDJ-RX3. My library isn't converting over without downloading Rekordbox which I didn't realize I would have to do. Do you know if the update that is supposed to come out early next year, for the DJ's who don't want to mess around with Rekordbox, will be able to just plug our music right in? As a mobile DJ, getting the RX3 was in hopes to eliminate a laptop for most of my gigs if not all. I'd like to see you guys make a video showing how to convert over to the RX3 for the first time as an established Serato Pro DJ if possible. Thank you guys again for your videos. I'd love to see more #DJSundaySkills - DJ PYUM
If you connect the XDJ RX3 to your laptop with serato it becomes a serato controller. And if you connect the rekordbox on your computer it goes to performance mode. Standalone only works with rekordbox prepared usb stick. To convert your libraries from serato to rekordbox use Lexicon Software. Then make your rekorbox libraries collection. Your serato crates become your rekordbox playlists. From there connect a usb stick then change rekordbox to export mode then export the libraries you want to the usb stick. You can also export all the playlists in to a harddrive if you want and have your entire Library[collection] to use stand alone.
Hi, one question: if we midi map one of the pad modes to work as sampler, would those samples work in stand alone mode? thanks in advance! great video by the way 👌👌👌
Purchased one at the weekend, from a Pioneer AD, it had scratches all over it, it was replaced with another brand new one, again scratched up, but not as bad as the previous one, I have decided to keep the 2nd one, definitely some quality control issues at Pioneer, allowing these units to ship in a used condition.
I was expecting more personalization options for the browse screen. I'd like to pick my own columns to display. One personalization column is not enough. I have many choices I'd pick before album art. There are lots of complex features, but this lacks a basic and vital one to me.
With all off the units (controlers) being produced. It makes sense to develop a controler with a detachable touch screen. It only makes dj's buy flight cases only for the unit itself versus using a case that would work if not for the protruding touch screen poking out. If this idea runs across developers I would said unit if it was produced.
Thanks for the guide I actually learnt something useful. How did you get the custom image and in what directory should it go? I'm actually struggling hahaha
Is it the update I'm wanting - nope. No wifi ability, no ability to analyse off the cuff - is it worth someone upgrading from the RX2, I just don't think so.
Thanks for review n all..i have question/ do you think can be use this RX3 to middle size club? i used cdj2000nsx2 w djm900nxs. is it upgrade or downgrade if i swab this RX3? kindly let me know ur opinion...means except personal skills..only things
I love the XDJXZ , I also got the RX3 however the sound quality is terrible high pitch frequencies I couldn't handle it. I sent mine back I am hoping I had a broken one. But I saw a few other people have the same issues. Must use a different chip in these than the others. Even here on your video, the sound frequencies are sort of off do u agree?.
£1700 at Bop DJ, DJKit and The Disc DJ store. It's a bit steep, especially given the XZ is only £400 more but offers more. The RX2 definitely needed this upgrade though.
Hi. Crossfader, i have SanDisk 128 GB but the wavevorms just doesn’t work on my RX3 . I already analyzed it thru rekordbox. But the INFO is still empty and no wavevorms.. should i use another USB? What USB do you recommend?
I do hear many talk about sound quality. I also see that the prime 4 has a S/N ratio of 93 while the XZ is 111, but what really is the difference in real life application? N how much better is it in quality if a A&H mixer is said to be better, but the same question applies, how much different is Pioneer to A&H. Has anybody had the experience to tell the difference between the three?
Hey, how I should upload my custom image for the jog displays? Tried to upload to usb, and when on rx3 I choose custom image I still cannot see the picture I uploaded. What I do wrong??
I might have to sell my XDJ RX2 for this. The RX2 IMO is quite the perfect machine for a standalone, all this is, is that plus some more bells and whistles (also what the XZ was). Seems like a lot of shade being thrown here, but I'm glad they made a new unit that reflects the new CDJs. IDK why people who already own kit are so damn butthurt that pioneer wants more customers, not existing ones.
good review! Thank you! I think i´ll go for it. I tested the denon prime 2 and the reason i have sent it back was, that the effects sounded much worse than those from pioneer. And when cuing a channel on the prime 2 it takes the signal-path before the filter effect is applied , why ? Also the often mentioned built-in track-analysing function was not very good. a lot of songs where analysed with wrong bpm - and it´s not possible to adjust the bpm measurement within the prime 2 so you have to jump back to a laptop again. So what does it then help you? Wifi and streaming - i don´t need that. The Touch-Screen and Beat-Jump Button i realy liked on the denon.
Awesome unit! Thanks for the video. I cannot get the BPM column next to the track name like you have there on the screen, i've chosen that column in Rekordbox prefs, but it's not syncing over properly to the hardware for some reason from my USB drive.
With the price increase pushing this all-in-one unit to $2,000, how could you not consider the 4-channel Denon Prime 4 that is now $200 cheaper by MSRP??
@@ndzmndz Seriously, for professional DJing I wouldn't consider going for a Denon kit. I tired and have learnt the lesson. Never again. Altgough the RX3 is nice, but probably only a few people can afford buying this... I still don't feel a need after having RX1 or even RX2 to jump into this new one.
At which pioneer will I feel a smaller difference when I come to a club where there are CDJ-3000 and DJM-900-NXS2? - RX3 Compact? Or XDJ-700 and DJM-450? What would you recommend? thanks 🔥
Hi friend, good evening. I LIVE IN BRAZIL AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH SITE CAN I BUY THIS EQUIPMENT, BECAUSE I HAVE ALREADY LOOKED FOR IT ON THE INTERNET AND STILL HAVE NOT FOUND A STORE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE IT. THANK YOU AND SUCCESS ON THE CHANNEL.
It is normal then when connected with rekordbox (software mode) all the double functions of the pads and the previews are lost? I have to use from the software only?
At 4:54 the browser view shows the BPM field displaying Key in addition to the BPM. How did you get the file tagged that way, or the data to display that way? Specifically the Key following the BPM info in that field?
Does anyone know how to stop the BPM slider from effecting the pitch of tracks when lowering or increasing the BPM on the RX3 its cause my tracks that are in key to clash when they shouldn't be
Was curious when I saw Pioneer just released the RX3 because it will take almost another two months till my Prime 4 will be delivered. But this was kind of a letdown... Is it just me or did it feel like Holland is not 100% convinced by the RX3? So I guess it is okay waiting another two months for my Prime 4 instead of jumping on the RX3.
You mentioned that if the music has been through the analysed through rb in phrase it would then will show up on the RX3 screen, assuming that must be RB6 feature as it doesn't seem to work with my RB5... Plus at this moment in time a few like myself cannot get the RX3 to connect in performance mode with mac. I have tried it on a big surprise M1 mac and and older internet MacBook intel model, looking at the forums there are a few others having the same issues, just wondered if you have used yours in performance mode?
In looking at maybe buying but would like to use performance mode. Does it have RB unlock built-in? I use a ddj-xp2 so thinking as this unlocks would it allow performance mode to work?
Hi guys. I hope you can help. I have an RX3 and have recorded 3 mixes. I can play all three on the hardware itself in the recordings folder but when I look at the USB files on my MAC/Phone etc. The folder is empty. Why is this?
When talking about the mixer and compare it to the 900nxs2. you should mention that it does not have the hi mid low buttons. For me that was the key why i upgraded from 900nexus to nxs2. Also the xz has that. Maybe an annitation in the video would help?
Honest opinion, as someone getting back into Djing, do I get this or the SC live 4? I know they're totally different units with one having four channels, but as far as features etc on the decks themselves which gives better bang for your buck? Love the videos guys.
For performance controls around mixing and getting creative then, this hands down. However, if you want to remove the laptop from the picture, focus on streaming music and need something simple and streamlined then the SC Live 4.
I want to use the RX3 to stream on twitch, I stilll want to DJ as standalone without using any software on the computer but I need to send audio through the computer into OBS.. can this be done with the RX3? Does anyone know?
Hello i have a question, i also have an XDJ RX3 but wich USB STICK is good for the RX3? i have SANDISK EXTREME PRO,but sometime its not load the song fast enough.
I'm backed on djing it was longtime (after I started in 80's on turntables) in 2017 with RX2, and I've say (again) this is the best device to djing 'digital'.. RX3 is a (more) brilliant piece of kit, it has everything we need to start a party and have fun (us and people).. I've pair of CDJ2000NXS2, but I love this and I'd buy just to have best trade off quality/fun/portability.. about network self standing (inside decks), is not a tech choice by Pioneer (vs Denon).. (right or wrong it is) Pioneer policy is: 'my devices just play music, for network please use pc/mac'
True but I need WiFi so I have access to my music. I think having options is awesome because bullshit can happen at gigs. I need more options to access music! Having one way to play music is too risky
So not groundbreaking... I'm thinking: In a world with current shortage of anything with microchips in it: Shouldn't Pioneer simply have released a new firmware update to the RX2 with most of the new stuff in it? Wouldn't that have been better for everyone? - except maybe the Pioneer shareholders
@@Crossfader Which begs the question of why they didn't they add a newer processor to it or just delay it until a new processor was available for it, it looks like they have made a rod for their own back with that decision, and I'm a pioneer and rekordbox user.
Anyone know how bad the screen wobbles?! is it universal? I'm maybe trading in my rx2 for one and i might leave it if i'm trading out for something dodgy
