Pioneer DVL-919 

Hi Andrew, I really have no idea if this will play in USA. I am actually based in Dubai.

@Andrew Stimmel The pioneer DVL-919 plays NTSC only (LD) NTSC-U/C DVD R1 NTSC-J DVD R2 Pioneer DVL-919E plays both PAL and NTSC (LD) and R2 DVD

I also had this unit without remote and could not find its remote anywhere, so I sold it as is.

A CU-DV018, CU-DV030, CU-DV027 will work and maybe the CU-DV008 from DVD only version of the same motherboard.

I’m using universal remote on my pioneer I can’t find the original remote...

I managed to. Find a 919 and the ori controller for just usd 4.50! Both fully working

Might be your tv isn't compatible with NTSC signals, Laserdiscs didn't had region locking.

If the TV is set for component input while playing a LD, the picture will be monochrome. OR if the player is set for component output, but the TV is hooked to S-video or composite video, the picture will be monochrome. One of these is probably your problem.

On 909 and 929 there's a little white switch on back yo change from ntsc to pal, glick the switch depending where laserdisc is from
