G Vargas absolutely. I had my passenger window open and I was standing outside and I could feel the wind from it. I'm in an SUV and it has the same effect at about half the RMS rating

I just got mine today and I am breakin mine aswell. How long did you break in for? and do they start to give of a burn coil smell?

It's nuts. I have similar pioneer TS-W311S4 2 sub for a 400rms each. kicking on the louder sub amplifier 800RMS ALL day. And trust me. 6 months I don't have to any problems with this sub. Almost any day I played on the maximum power.

I'm running a pair on a CAB 1600.1, they are receiving 1200 RMS and I can still smell the coil heating up after about ten minutes of heavy excursion. I am running a ported box, a bit small at 1.5cf/per sub (not including displacement) which is tuned at around 42hz. I have been running this setup for a couple of months, time will tell if these pioneer can take the abuse of my previous Kicker CVRs.

T Turner usually if you push them even a little under RMS before they are broken in, they will heat up faster. its best to play at lower volumes for a few weeks so they can properly break in and then you can slam them at the RMS rating with no trouble. (that is unless it's a faulty speaker)

Tre Scatti I agree, but as you see I have had them a couple of months by my comment. I broke them in with about 800 RMS (400 each), they can take 600 RMS a piece without a doubt. My real problem is my amplifier puts out about 2200 watts dynamic (playing music), which is more than these can handle peak for extended periods. You won't find a better subwoofer for twice the price of these ($70 a piece).

I've never been impressed by pioneer. It's a better than nothing system designed to work until it breaks and you buy another because that cheap shit is all you can afford and they know it. They need to seriously step up their quality and stop victimizing the Faces of Walmart, or go out of business. People won't miss them. Even their decks suck. People realize it the moment they stop buying this bullshit and get something real by accident how much money Pioneer made off their hopes and dreams out of desperation. Damn near anything is better. Boss, Dual, Kraco... Stock...

I payed someone I found online to custom build it. I wish I credited his site, it was so long ago but I just googled around and got an estimate and payed him.

actually 1.5-2cf is rec for those.. i had one in 1.65 cf ad box on 930 rms was pretty loud.. they don't need larger than that unless u on have like 400-500 per sub then 1.8 or so cf would be good

Most Kenwood monoblock reaches 2ohms this two subs are 1ohm so that's the issue

Lattestone671 sick bro thanks had another one too why you switch from the pioneer to rockford , that pioneer was puttin out like 1500 compared to the rockford i know i was a 1200d and name brand but still i had that amp too and i was running a soundqubed HDS3.1 15 in a 4 cuft box to 32 and it was slammin but now i got these pioneer cuz i sold my 15 and now i wanna get a custom box for the 12’s

RMS wattage is the wattage you look at. Not peak or that max false rating. The max or peak is only made to be played for about 3-5 seconds. It is a competition number

@yan5362- I had a soundqubed Q2200.1 ran @ 1 ohm on a pair of these subwoofers. It was a great match, as long as you have a clip light on your bass knob, and back it down when the clip light flashes, you should be fine. In a mid sized trunk car, i got a 144 Db on a term Lab SPL meter.

The amp is hifonics Brutus gamma 4000. 2 big az agms, 20ah lithium battery, regular battery under the hood and one more bigger regular battery next to the agms🔊🔊 they are not broken in yet and they slamming.

@@utmtenfoe1612 I have seen tests on your Hifonics Brutus Gamma 4000.1D= 3,100 on amp dyno @ 1 ohm resistive load. But if wired to 1 ohm on speakers= a reactive load= will change impedance while playing music. The actual power going to your speakers is approximately 1/4 to 1/2 power. So between 700 to 1600 watts, ball park, after impedance rise. Great amp for the $, from what i have heard. Have you metered your system @ a Db contest? What vehicle is your system in?

Digital Music Of course the camera can't pick up the low frequencies from the bass because it is not built for it. The camera mic is distorting based on the amount of SPL from the woofers. Sounds completely clean in person with a human ear.

+Basim Soomro Lowered the trunk latch, sound deadened under the rear deck also above it, and put weather stripping around the license plate. I have had these subs for almost a year and am surprised they haven't blown yet. The Pioneer GM-D9601 recently stopped working cause I was pushing it too hard and now have the Rockford Fosgate R1200-1D and it is a much better amp. I get basically no headlight dimming and learned to not use bass boost anymore as it is definitely pointless and you miss out on the lower notes. When the subs blow I will get better ones but so far the system sounds great and are definitely comparable to higher priced subs.

Yes and only using a single battery.

+DaOldSchoolRapLova96 Yes, but only when I play close to max and for a long time. I have a volt meter and it stays above 14 and dips to 13 depending on song. It dips to 12 when I play it close to max volume after playing a decent amount of songs.

Get Kinetic 1400 off of Amazon for your front replacement battery. Don't put one in the back unless your primary front one is replaced. You could but I wouldn't recommend it.

Alex Alvarez i running stock too. Full blast for minutes and no flinch. But I did replace my battery to a much stronger one. It cranks out about 800amps. It's good enough, also I won't be keeping the car long anyways

But I agree these subs were definitely worth $72 when I got mine, very clean sounding subs Ive upgraded so I havent had it for about a year and a half bc I sold it to my buddy and I heard him from over a block away and that sub still impresses me I didnt know he still had it and I thought he had something bigger in his car these subs were worth every penny!

4 cubic feet @ 30-35Hz should work for these subs. I just bought 2 but I am going sealed.

+dudesome6969 i have tried them in sealed. they are good tight and accurate. but arent able to hit the lows so good and putting a 3003d4 in a sealed wouldnt be loud

+dudesome6969 Well, I want to run them in a sealed application to use less space in my trunk, and for accurate bass for everyday music. They will hit lows just fine in a large sealed box on no more than 400 watts each though, but they just won't be super loud. They will however need less power if ported @ 2 cu ft each. I'd be careful not to make the box to big and not to give them over 500-600 rms, they are not built that well, people have had issues with them ripping apart at the spider and problems with voice coils completely cutting through the speaker somehow. Don't use bass boost either. I will use about 1.15 cu ft per sub after displacements. and use no more than 500w rms after they break in from a SoundQubed Q1.1200 monoblock. This is all temporary until I get the money to finally install my American Bass XFL's in a large ported box firing forward towards the inside of the car, sealed from trunk on a 5000w rms amp.

+dudesome6969 Also, the guy in the video has them in ported, sorry if you got confused, I commented on the vid weeks ago when Basim needed a box size. If you want to move alot of air, tune bewteen 26Hz and 30Hz. For SQ, 32Hz and up.
