for someone wanting Pioneer hardware running Rekordbox in standalone or controller mode, the Pioneer XDJ-700 with its good set of features, detailed touchscreen and overall compact size, this model is great value for money. Thanks for the brilliant video Kareem
I'm making the brave step from Serato to Rekordbox and this helped a lot.. both before AND after the purchase. Was still surprised by the small size at first but along with the DJM-450 it all looks nice and compact..
Hi, what would you recommend.. the S4mk3 or a pair of XDJ-700's. I already have a good mixer for my Tec 1200's so wouldn't need to include that in my choice. Cheers
The XDJ-700 can be used with Serato DJ as well, so if that's what you want to use, then the XDJ will be the way to go. If you want an all-in-one setup for Traktor, then go with the S4. Good luck with your choice.
Relatively new bedroom DJ here. I'm using a DDJ 400 and have been setting up to 8 cues (usually 4 though). I know there are only 3 cue points on the XDJ 700 so what happens to my remaining cues when I plug in my USB? Do they disappear or do they turn into memory cues?
I am in 2 minds and need your opinions please... I have a Pioneer DJM 800 mixer and I am either going to purchase 2 of these XDJ 700s or buy the Denon Prime 4 plus all-in-one until....?
I misjudge this system. I saw it used live at an event and the DJs was pleased with it. In fact, the host of the event would consider buying one. I am researching it myself. This is why I went to you guys here and watch the video. Of course, it don't have everything like the Nexus and XDJ 1000 but for the price and the experience you will have playing on CDJs, I think it maybe worth it.
Too many things omitted for many from last gen Pioneer tech they already own. Apart from the screen/standalone Rekordbox tech the CDJ 400 has more features (& can still midi up to Rekordbox). & Looks like it has the same type glassyish top touch capacitive jog on my Pioneer flx6 . I paid about the same for CDJ 400s in 2009. Which leaves the XDJ 1000s, which are almost the same price as cdj 2000s on the current market. Makes a solid Denon SC5000 at £200 less per unit but having more features even over XDj 1000 seem like the best deal, when it comes to the 700. Regardless of industry standards.
@@NT_80 Hardware wise it's all about the Denon SC range. Controller wise it's about Pioneer ATM. If you use Rekordbox software to DJ with & want to use hardware & not a controller then xdj 1000, not even 700 i'd say. Only thing sc5000 are 2 decks in one (4 decks X2 units) they make a 2 channel mixer obsolete, you can use one but you will want all 4 channels. So look for a 4 channel mixer to go with.
Those external power supply, most of them, will make your pro audio amp humming - and you will also get static noise on primary channel - if they are plugged in an outlet that is on the same electrical line. Be aware of this!
Not!!! I would not pay for this. I am sorry but I rather go for the XDJ-RX2 or the XDJ-RR to save money. You still have to purchase 2 with a mixer. It is not worth it!
The price is horrible. If they were like $300 or less, maybe but feel I got a much better deal getting a DDJ 1000 controller for the price of two of these. Many more features and functionality.
Harry Young, because with these pro four channel mixers they have send and return into any channel as well as capability to record and send to another channel so even if you only have two cdjs you can use all four channels
Hi, i'm just about to purchase some pioneer xdj700's. I've been hearing that serato dj will not work with these decks which has confused me. Surely if I use my rane sl2, I will be able to dj using these decks with the time code on a usb? Can you confirm this for me please?
10:03 So True, and they release the hid of traktor for the nexus 2 before... they will skip some compatibility as they did with the HID of the CDJ-850 and do half of the work...
I have my music on San disc usb like yours but how do I put all my usb music through record box so it will read my music when I put it into the unit .will it take my music as it is or is it only if I use a laptop I have to use recordbox ? Also if am using a non pioneer stand alone mixer with usb port will one lead into the mixer make both xdjs work as controllers or do you have to link individual xdjs to the laptop individual . About to buy these so advice would be great thanks
got a set of these recently and having terrible issues. every time i load a track the opposite deck goes into emergency loop and the usb stick crashes. tracks have been analyzed in record box. no issue with tracks that have been just put on the usb stick directly but all the ones from record box fail every time, decks are brand new, usb stick brand new, using latest record box and firmware on decks up to date, seriously thinking to send them back. not sure what to do. any tips?
Never heard of this issue. Try different computer and different USB sticks. Also try to reinstall Rekordbox on another computer, then reload the USB stick again.
@@kareem_the_dream i got it to work by reformatting the drive to FAT32 and directly exporting tracks and albums after analysing them. however if i export a playlist to the usb when playing from the playlist on the xdj it constantly creates a loop error and the only way around that is to take out the usb. otherwise exporting without using playlists seems to work
I’ve had these for several months now and love them...one thing that has been bugging me though, is there a way to wipe all the cue and loop points clean from all tracks so that they don’t appear every time I load my usb?
I am not really a CDJ/XDJ DJ so I wouldn't ever get it, but I'd get it if I didn't want to pay big money for a CDJ-2000NXS or 3000... I believe they have an MK2, but the MK2 can't be used with Serato? I'm not sure but I think that's true...
@@glennkinning1370 This is Definitely a huge upgrade from a controller to me and it makes it so you can transition to other CDJ's in the club setting. Go for it!
