@@miguelmost00000 I will check that out. He has the sparkling of youth and artist... great fit. I started to know him 12 plus years ago when he showed up at Lucia's show at Met. I felt his voice sounded a lot similar to the inlay of Carreras. Thank you so much.
Magnificent! The purity of his voice is outstanding, no scratchiness, no throatiness, no harshness. The voice is perfectly integrated. . Reminds me of the young Domingo whose voice was much darker but had the same purity of sound. May he not overtax his beautiful instrument.
I haven't heard Beczala live so maybe I my opinion isn't definitive. But on the recorded evidence, he's damn good. At one time I tried to collect every Lucia recording. So I have some frame of reference. It's a tough piece. I watched a tenor friend crash and burn in performance trying to sing it. It's a tough piece The best recording I've ever heard is probably the one by De Muro Lomanto. Beczala here is far better than Alfredo Kraus or Bergonzi or Bruce Ford. Or Pavarotti for that matter.
