Reviewing footage from this evening, it looks like we have a pip or first crack in Egg #1. Night lighting can be tough to get clear images... Has the hatch process started, let us know what you think in the comments!
Yep, that’s a certainly a pip…but it looks like that baby eaglet is going the long way around. Looks a little awkward elongated like that. The other egg also looked like it had a pip on it. We shall wait and see. I’m so excited for this couple. Congratulations M15. & F23! 🥳🎉♥️🥚👍🏻😘
It was a PiP a couple of days ago with the downward angled crack even though L H didn't think so. PIp's having an outward bulge are more thought of as a PiP(by E inside Eggshell). but, at times than Egg tooth straight line or applying Mech Pressure on a Point on shell surface can cause a fracture-----Or a chemical deficiency in the shell material producing a deformed oval fracture surface(as here) can be thought of as a PiP also. And then the hatching E can use it's Wt and egg tooth sharpness to bring mechanical stress to a point and unite several sub surface non visible cracks into a confluence of cracks into a hole and a point of exit of the Eaglet from the shell.
❣Oh Yes, I can see definite marks like a crack has begun. Come on lil ones, Mum & Dad, ( & us) can't wait to welcome you both 🙂 Talons, paws & fingers crossed for this new couples first family ❤🙏🏻 Watching from Scotland 😻🏴
Sure looked like the start of a PIP.👏🏻👏🏻🥳🥳🐣❤️🦅🦅. Congratulations to the very special and most wonderful parents M15 and LF23. I’m definite that this little bundle of feathery joy will be out by morning when we all get up. Thank you SWFL Cam people for sharing this video with us. It’s so very exciting to have more Eaglets again this year. I’m happy to see how papa and momma are going to be when they see their baby. E23 is coming!👏🏻👏🏻🥳🥳🐣🦅🦅❤️🙏
After reviewing more video from the nest and close ups of the eggs from this evening, one of the eggs is cracked. Hopefully all is ok but we will have to wait and see.
My observations are that the cracked egg is the second egg laid that an indent was first seen two days ago. If so, timing and lack of egg tooth activity would point to the egg being no longer viable. At 21:48 yesterday, it looks as though the first egg laid has the correct timing, location and appearance of a pip.
1:17:52 a.m. I got a screenshot of both eggs. Definitely large cracks in egg 1, hopefully healthy hatching, and then on the right side of egg 2, a small pip crack.
Both eggs are hatching right now. Egg2 started first, but both are progressing nicely. Haven't had "twins" since Season 9, and they were the only ones. Hartched 1:45 min. apart, January 23, 2021. E17 & E18 were the ultimate success in delayed incubation. It is a bit chilly this week in SW Florida, so we may have to be patient.
Really could be cracks since it's due to hatch! Can't take my eyes off her! Keep waiting for the next time she gets up and hope the cameraperson can get another closeup!!!
It appears the battle is with the thicker outer membrane. I think we'll know more within the next 18 hours, Praying the membrane does not dry out. It needs to stay humid during incubation & that the eaglet is turned with its beak toward that exposed membrane so it can get a few jabs at it and punch through. 💓🙏
