@@DynamicDuoUK The DWP especially PIP are not known for admitting their mistakes and rarer still, to have them correct their mistakes, without first appealing to a panel of tribunal doctors. Fact is the government squanders large amounts of tax-payers money implementing convoluted new schemes to reduce disability benefits. Paying their department heads millions in Christmas bonuses. With the onus on reducing/ceasing as many active PIP claims as possible.
@lg5819
@lg5819 Месяц назад
For those ignorant people who cruelly demonise people on benefits. If they only knew how difficult it is to claim PIP and how the pressures of trying to claim it and understand how to fill out the forms when you have lifelong mental health problems that pushes you to the edge, they’d think otherwise. And if it wasn’t for mental health charities like scope and mind, and many more we would have nobody to fight our corner. All I can say is, any changes made to PIP need to be in consultation with advocates that work at mental health charities, so the proposed changes help disabled people and do not make them suffer. For instance, vouchers will not help somebody who suffers from severe anxiety and paranoid thought’s when on occasions they might be in a local supermarket but will be vulnerable to people staring at them or shouting abuse at them or attacking them because they see they are using vouchers to pay for essential items like food.

And make the voucher allowance barely enough to live on (no money for holidays, can't afford car, need charity shop clothes and meals from food bank bits only, no money for school activities or toys). Then sanction them with no vouchers for six months for failing some arbitrary nonsense or failing to report a change cos the family's hamster died. Too cruel? But that's how they expect jobseekers to live. And make the vouchers so they can't be used for cigarettes, alcohol, sweets, chocolate, newspapers, nappies, baby milk etc. This will be because a big part of the vouchers will be that you can't use them for anything most people really need and it goes without saying they will only be useable in stores owned by global corporations, not at the local corner shop or any business that's not quoted on the bloody stock exchange. I may be judging unfairly but doubt it. All part of the insidious cashless, micromanaging, CBDC hell that the so-called "elites" are trying to create.

My response was simple. Vouchers or a catalogue would not help me as my costs are in my energy bills and transport costs. I also claimed the level of administration required to create a voucher scheme would mean a massive increase in costs of both employees , printing, distributing the vouchers. Once a pip standing order is created the on costs are minimal being a yearly review of the amount. Vouchers would need ongoing support and could also be subject to theft and abuse

Vouchers would be disastrous. So many services and support groups have closed, and more and more people rely on private help and care. That wouldn't be possible with a voucher system. People living on a very low budget also rely on secondhand clothing and items from jumble sales, boot fairs and charity stores, again, not possible on vouchers. People are barely surviving as it is. To take away even more cost cutting methods would be devastating.

PIP helps with things your current income can't provide you with fully. For some people with mobility issues, PIP will help you with paying to hire a scooter or even allow you to buy one. It can also help you pay for Taxi's etc. if the government was to provide vouchers etc, then how will that pay for taxi's etc? The government need to stop lining their pockets and help the people who need it. Stop taxing us for everything when we already pay tax out of our pay packet. Why do we need to pay tax on things we already have paid tax on? Greedy government again...only thinking of their pockets and not the general public. Yet they wonder why certain people steal or do cash in hand jobs.

The actual interview was not ideal and very humiliating. To top it all they objected to the escort taking notes. Why? Edited to add, it was a round trip of 130 miles (65 miles each way). @nickedwards212 the issue is the lack of understanding of mental health. There has always been a stigma attached to it and it's hard to measure someone's mental health as its not physically assessed and changeable (in some cases). There will be mass suicides sadly if they were to stop it... not due to the stopping it but for the wider issues.. people make an assumption (those who do not understand mental health or are lucky enough to not ever experience it) that everyone with mental health problems are lazy etc... but if you saw someone with one leg for example or a physical debilitating condition they would be seen as not meeting the threshold for work. There is such a judgement on mental health and it's as real as cancer or any other condition. Hidden conditions are discriminated against in many aspects and I hope more people can see that pushing all of those into work who are suffering from forms of mental health will just ultimately create a higher suicide rate. @butterflysoul what's your thoughts on this?

did you know that the dwp are looking at digital applications for benefits? if this is put in place and replaces other formats for applications it will create barriers for those without internet access or a device , less tech savvy seniors and those with visual impairments / partially sighted etc am not surprised by this proposal due to the push for digitisation and it seems the dwp have now looking at embracing this platform .. we must push back on this and if there is a public consultation we all should give feedback

Hi, thank you for your comment. It's important to remember that pip could be stopped or removed at any point even on life long awards, because it's not a legally binding contract but rather a benefit which can be changed or removed. At the present moment pip is on hold for changes and reviews and things continue as normal. If we hear anything important it may be after October this year when the budget has commenced. With the on going issues in the UK at present the government has shifted focus away from benefits. All the best DDUK

After David Cameron first seemed to start his hate for disabled people I only thought it was going to get worse. People need to remember this not people pulling a sickie this actually is disabled people and every help and understanding should be given. I hope this government leaves the disabled alone, it's hard enough living your life as a person with disabilities without constant uncertainty being thrown out by governments trying to make them out to be lay abouts. Let's look after our sick, disabled and elderly because one day it will be you. As my old nan used to say "there for the grace of God go I", meaning one day it could be you and treat people how you would like to delt with if illness should befall you.

Sorry got something to add ### Comment In my opinion, PIP should be reserved for those with a formal diagnosis. If someone has depression, they should receive mental health therapy. For obesity, individuals should get dietary advice and help to determine if the cause is medical or psychological. As someone with Autism, it's frustrating to see a couple I knew get a higher DLA rate simply for being obese, while I only received the standard rate. Clear diagnoses ensure fair and targeted support.

The one thing I will say tho politely is, diagnosis can sometimes be hard to come by, I wasn't diagnosed with ADHD, ASD amongst other things till I was in my mid 30s. BUT if they actually employed people who specialise in these areas and stopped employing people with too many opinions it would solve it too. But as rich said, they have a system that good liars can beat and genuine people are tricked and refused. They need, Doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, things like that not the people who have been doing it The thing is, the assessors they have right now are also ignoring physical disabilities that can quite easily be seen too. This proves theyre not just under qualified, they just don't care about the person they are assessing

Hi there it's a fair question and it's been pretty well answered by @dynamicduo just above (thanks so much for this channel by the way ❤) we had 14 years of the most vile and callous government ever, and I think the entire country was sick of the corruption. I think it's fair to say they have left a huge mess to clean up. However the recent decision about pensioners and winter fuel allowance has proven controversial to say the least. It's very disappointing because there's plenty of very, very rich people in this country who can easily afford to pay huge additional sums without even blinking. They should be targeted. Many of them moan and threaten to leave the country. All I will say is good luck with that..... Finland for example has a top tax rate of over 90%, for the very wealthiest. However, the people of Finland are for the most part very friendly, and know how to look after the vulnerable and elderly. Our democracy is sadly flawed.

The voting system 1st past the post is rigged towards the Tories and Liebour ( yes I did spell that right ) thats Labours new name after lieing about raising taxes, and the shamefull winter payment cancellation for Pensioners not on benefits, as for the General Election it needs changing to Percentage of People who voted for the Party for example Liebour won even though less people voted for them, Reform got 12% and 4 Million votes and Only got 5 Mp's, Lib-Dems got 10% and 3 Million votes but got 72 Mp's how does that work out 1 Million less than Reform but got more seats. This is just my opinion sorry if it upsets some people or even some people might agree.

They don't want to tax the rich because they fear the consequences which clearly tells you who really owns everything. The rich of course. The rich will threaten to leave if they do. Yet it would be nothing to them if they were taxed a small amount which would put loads of money back into helping the vulnerable. Also making it a bit easier for those that work too, as they get too much taken off them. Most folk are just living by the skin of their teeth to survive. That's not fairness. ❤😊

The Scottish government may have to fall in line with the Westminster government, The minister for social security in Scotland has already said that they may have to implement the winter fuel payment cut here. The reason is the consequentels, the grant given to Scotland will deduct any planned changes by labour to the new Adult Disability Payment to match PIP. Since Scotland is on a fixed grant and can not borrow, it may impact us here in Scotland

its not either or, if we stopped making their countries so awful by selling bombs etc, meddling then they wouldn't need to be moving. Also we NEED migrants for work we've hude shortages in the workforce like the 40,000 NHS vacancies

The new immigrants aren't entitled to benefits. It is extremely hard to have empathy with the far right disabled or not.

Pip needs reforming, but vouchers will not help, everyone. It may help some, and needs specialised assessors who knows what they are doing, and home visits.

Hi i have just seen your clip and i thank you for bringing this to the people i signed the petition concerning this bill which i think is so outdated as if we are back in the start of the 19 century when the guys who owned the factorys (work houses ) and gave them vouchers and they had use them where to use them that was when the trucking act came in the fat bastards that owned everything was told to pay in cash and we were able to spend were ever we wanted ,And of course torys again tried to do the same thing to refugees and every organization out there was shouting againest human rights andvwhat do you know it was stopped so get every organizations out there to fight this green paper and help the people who receives pip it must be stopped we are better than the refugees as we have worked paid our dues and now we all need help sorry to say that about the refugees i know they need help but so do we kids adults ect again thank you for bringing this to ligt about the dates ect
