That's why construction is so interesting. 😊 Well, it is strong enough to hold the weight. On the following working day, we remove it after deflating the balloon/blow up mould. Hope I'm able to answer your question. Thanks!
A very good question. Yeah, the structure was reinforced in the decking slab. Since the width of the culvert is short, you can construct it without any rebars in the wall. However, in case the width was above 1.2m, rebars should have been used. Hope I'm able to explain it to you. Cheers!
What about the bottom and the sides? No iron rods needed at those places? Without iron rods, can the structure withstand heavy loads such as tipper trucks loaded with sand or chippings?
This wing wall is simply designed and constructed for the ring culvert. The main purpose is to stop erosion of laterite. Hope it answers your question. Thank you.
The balloon u used, I've never seen it nor heard about it. But my question is, how do u cast the concrete on top of the balloon without the balloon bursting? How do u go about it?
Hi, the balloon doesn't burst. It's strong and durable. However, care must be taken. After fixing balloon, concrete is casted to a thickness of 5 to 7cm and then rebars are placed. Lastly concrete is poured again on top of rebars. Thank you.
Hi, I think you're looking for the area. Divide the apron into 1 square and 2 triangles then calculate the 3 areas. After getting these 3 areas, you may add them to get complete area. Hope it's clear. Thank you.
It depends on what additives are added to the mix, if a super plastisiser is added then vibrating will ruin the mix the concrete settles to its finished level by itself.
Total concrete volume is 17cu.m So, you may decide to put the rate of per cubic meter concrete as per the costs of your city/town. Hope it is helpful. Thank you.
There is reinforcement on the slab/decking. You may also check out my other videos to get the idea. I always use Y10, Y12 & Y16 mm reinforcement bars for the decking/slab. Thank you.
Base thickness = 0.25m In to In height = 0.9m Decking Slab thickness = 0.25m Head wall Height = 0.6m (you may raise or reduce it, as per your requirement). Thank you.
Hey Jantali, kindly check out my other videos, I also used RCC prefabricated pipes. Both methods are good. Balloon is also an inexpensive method, which can be used if you don't have the availability of RCC pipe/rings. Hope you understand, thank you.
You may save transportation charges of RCC rings and go with balloon. However, both are inexpensive and decent ways of construction of Pipe Culvert. Thank you.
