Great video. Have you tried the VNAV feature I’ll do an offset of 1-3 miles to pattern altitude. I’ll pick a 1.5 glide gradient which gives me a shallow descent.
I have played with it a bit while VFR, but found I did not like it changing Alt without my input. I typically set the target Alt and set a vertical speed target like 500 ft min and it gives me a count down. Mike
@@TheCapTan On the flight plan page there is a box next to the destination. I click on it and input the tgt alt and distance from. I give the 650 a couple secs to calculate everything and then go-to the vnav page and put in a 500ft per min decent. This starts a TOD count down timer 1 min before I reach the TOD I get a vertical track warning. I then go-to the GFC 500 and set up the Target alt in the GI275, when the time comes VS down at 500 ft min
@@pipercomanche2506 I do that as well but Activate the vnav button. The vnav page allows me to select a descent rate in fpm or a gradient. I get a TOD and 1 min before I reach it I get the vertical track. It will then descend automatically to selected altitude. I also set the alt but to the desired alt beforehand as well.
Hi Mike, Great video! What yoke mount are you using? I have the same size iPad and would like it mounted just like yours! Everywhere I try to mount the iPad it blocks instruments and I don’t like looking down at kneeboards. Thanks, Michael

Hi Mike nice video. I’ve recently joined the ranks of Comanche owners, and was wondering if you’d had any particular maintenance issues specific to your aircraft ?
Morning Rupert,. No I have not had any recurring issues. I have had the normal prop seal (1) landing gear strut seal (all 3), new battery every 3-4 yrs stuff,. But no recurring issues that we have not been able to figure out and fix. I do use a Comanche specialist mechanic and have had great luck with them. Heritage Aero in Freeport. They are not cheap, but I have not had to go back to them in the middle of the year more then 1-2 times in 8-9 years to get something sorted.
@@pipercomanche2506 thanks Mike good to hear. Can I ask how did your prop seal show itself when needing replacement…. did you end up losing oil from the prop governor ?
@@EtiRats No, you will see a fine mist of oil on the front of the cowling and as it gets worse you will see it on the windshield, some very fine droplets.
