Walkaround images of Piper Comanches PA-24-180 ZK-CYT and PA-24-260 ZK-DAA. CYT was photographed in December 2016 while DAA was photographed in May 2002. The photos were taken at Ardmore airport, South Auckland New Zealand.
DAA was flown in the BP sponsored London to Sydney air ace, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the the pioneering flight by Ross and Keith Smith in a Vickers Vimy. DAA had number of upgrades to allow flights across the Tasman to Australia in relative safety.
One image is of a rubber powered 18" span model of CYT. I've built four of these Comanches, the first over 50 years ago, which I still have!. Two are rubber powered, one electric and one Telco CO2. A CAD drawn plan is a free download, just get in touch.
