What a wonderful GEM of an interview with one of the best and most treasured actresses in the world, the great PIPER LAURIE :-) Such a great talent and personality.
I have just watched the movie "Tim" with Bruce Willis when he was very young. I thought she was mesmerising in this film, and played the part with great sensitivity. A truly beautiful lady. The film is truly memorable. I just loved it.
Piper Laurie was beautiful, intelligent and a very good actress (Rock Hudson said so too).I loved her in “Until They Sail” and the part she played said so much about the experiences of New Zealand women in the Second World War when all those charming American servicemen descended upon this very naive little country.
Kept on wanting to tell Skip, it's James Garner not James Gardner lol. Fabulous interview though nonetheless, Piper has always been so intriguing to me. Rather quiet, charming but when she gets on a roll she gets on a roll. Shame she hasn't gotten more meaty roles, whenever she had something she could sink her teeth into she really gave a tour de force performance.
Piper Laurie is still with us and SHE reminds me of myself BOTH overly attractive physically as to make us shy. I wish I could have met her during the same vintage for we would have been like two peas and a pod. I am guessing that she is Scottish? I am Welsh, Irish and Scottish with a booming singing voice. No man in her life and yet I find her then and today haunting.
