If he couldn't get parents' permission, he could've gone to any playground or used telephoto lenses for clips of kids playing. It wouldn't be hard. But yeah. Often, it's the parents who over-expose and/or sexualize their children for money or profit. In ancient times, it was believed that you should not put your children on display or praise them in front of others, because it made the gods jealous. I imagine this belief has some basis in truth, because parents who do that are drawing EVERYone's attention to their child or children, and some forms of attention are very, very bad for the kids.
