Wow, and that John Paul Jones is really amazing, so much creative genius, surprising he wasn’t accredited more for the songwriting roles. He offers up such incredible inspiration and ideas and on so many different instruments he plays. All four members of Zeppelin were supernatural.
@Lawrence Carver I so agree, they are all super human, everyone of them is the best in their field. It really seems super natural how this could happen.
@@bkrbyex4339 Well sure, thats a perfect foundation for a keyboardist, and you can really hear it in the intro of “ Your Time Is Gonna Come” ,.. the greatest keyboardists seem to come from Europe because of all the classical background they first studied. I wish more keyboardists in the states had this schooling and harmonic influence.
I like this better than "babe I'm going to leave you" but I understand why they needed to choose between the two songs to develop. Its because it sound really close to each other and they already did the organ to acoustic song with "your time is going to come".
This is from 1968. I believe there were a total of 7 instrumental tracks that surfaced (although the bootlegs repeated some of the songs to give the illusion that the tape was longer than it really was). It is rumored that the tracks were early concepts for the intro to "Your Time Is Gonna Come" or "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You". It's also rumored that the keyboard player was actually Steve Winwood, who was known to have recorded with Jimmy earlier in 1968 and was on the short list for the Led Zep vocalist slot.
@@redriderbbgun8018 Likely just found himself at Olympic and sat in. Never anything to suggest that he was ever considered. Steve Marriott was in fact considered but it never got very far.
He, also played the organ, and Jimmy played the guitar for joe cocker's cover of the Beatles "with a little help from my friends"...it was the coolest version ever.
@@SopranoPizzaJMFNJ the reason that Steve Marriott wasn't selected, is that gangster Andrew loog Odom has threatened Jimmy Page (with physical damage to his hands) if Jimmy tried to take Steve Marriott away from him.....now Steve Marriott is gone....he passed away a few years ago...he was once the lead singer of the band humble pie (whom peter framptom, was also a part of that group at the time.)
Been around since the late 80s. Turns up on outtakes, rehearsals and compilations. Recorded during the Baby, Come Back Home/Bert Burns sessions in 1968.
sounds a bit like some of the stuff Mark I Deep Purple had been doing at the same time. It also sounds like an early attempt at structure for Babe I'm Gonna Leave You.
🔮I hear the roots🌱that bloomed into🌹many⚡️Zep songs.🏆This is a🐣young Jimmy🎼musical📜masterpiece. I♥️Jimmy Page's solos (BronY'aur is my fave)!👏🏻I can hear bits of "Babe I'm Gonna To Leave You" in this recording, can you?👍🏻I was🐥raised alongside the path of⚡️Led Zeppelin music & at 57yo😎I listen to them🔊louder!💖I still love those🇬🇧Britishy'pests⏳to this day! 🇨🇦🎶🎸✍🏻♥️✨🌎f
There is the same chord progression as the opening for Babe I’m Gonna Leave You. I wonder if this was an early idea by Jimmy on how to approach that song? Or they were just fartin around in the studio one day….and had the tape running. Either way cool
@@jaffleyfifteen5912 yeah….that was the song he presented to Plant when they first got together on Jimmy’s houseboat to see if they were simpatico I’m so glad they were!
@@jaffleyfifteen5912 Anne Bredon recorded Babe I'm Gonna Leave You in 1959. The entire 1st LZ album is covers or ripped off of other songs. Jimmy was quite brazen about it. He had to settle out of court with Willie "I am the Blues" Dixon over You Need Lovin (Jimmy used it for Whole Lotta Love)
@@sargentoinkwinson4888 what a news flash. The songs are nothing like the originals and are their own masterpieces, not rip offs. The guitars in zeppelins version of that song are so unique and nothing like Anne Brendon’s. I don’t remember flamenco guitar solos or pedal steel in Anne brendon
There is at least 5 of these inst. from 1st LP outs. JPJ ??? Winwood was an early rumor also as Page wanted a singer/mellotron combo player in his new 'Yardbirds'
That open E string at the end of the Am picking sure does get repetitive. Lol almost nails on chalk board.. can see why they left it off the LP. Still really awesome though. That Gibson J-200 sounds beautiful!
Whether it is or isn’t authentic, it sounds amazing no matter who it is. Not sure what there isn’t to like about it unless you just have terrible taste.
What about it do you think isn’t Zep? It could not be them, but it definitely has the feel of a session in the studio in the early days like 1969 between Page and JPJ to me. What specifically has you so convinced?

The sound of them, yes. It would be great if it were them but it sounds like wishful thinking. There are many songs incorrectly attributed to them on youtube, outright faked at times. It doesn't sound like their early period which this would be. Especially the guitars, that's not Page's then tone nor style on acoustic. It's off.
