Sweet job pal !!! You are now gonna be called the Tarzan of the pipefitting world...the amateur before you using knuckle bends instead of swept. Well need I say more it's refreshing to see younger guys like yourself keeping the art of ours alive. Pipefitters Union BOOM 💥
Thanks for the support mate, I don't do a huge amount of commercial work, only the odd repair but I find it really enjoyable, thanks for the support and thanks for watching
Tom, I love your fearless approach to your work. I was a pipefitter apprentice and first week at work as a 17yr old was asked by the foreman if I knew anything about unions and I said we did a bit about them in history. Wasn’t the answer they were expecting but gave them all a laugh. I cut 2inch by hand in the 1970s and never knew threading machines existed for about 2 years.
Hi Kevin, thanks for watching the video mate, it must have been a right pain cutting 2" by hand, I think I have it lucky these days with recip saws and mains powered threading machines, I still do have some hand threaders somewhere, but I have never used them on a job. Thanks for the support mate
My press gun does actually go to 55mm I think but hardly anyone stocks the pipe or fittings round here, that would have been a good option though, thanks for watching mate 👍
Thanks for watching mate, when I first started all my old boss would use was boss white and hemp, you couldn't change him as he'd been doing that way for years, and to be honest it's still as good as anything you can get today, I use locktite 55 as it's easier to get hold of and it's cleaner and quicker
Your videos are great and they are made a hundred times better because you obviously really enjoy what your doing. Hope your feeling better and have a fantastic week
Class job fella. Love seeing the threading machine in action. I never get a chance to do any threaded pipework. Maybe some day I'll get a go at it. Great to see it being done.
Thanks Patrick, I have a larger rigid machine that goes up to 4", that things a beast but to heavy to move for small jobs, thanks for the support as always mate
Hi Tom, Great film as always mate. Congratulations on the 2k subscribers, well deserved always fantastic content and a great variety. Thank you Tom, much appreciated. 👍👍🍻👍👍
Another excellent, interesting video, thanks. Good to see you looking well again. With a channel as good as yours, I expect 10k subscriptions won’t be long off!
Thanks Steve, 10k seems a world away but I'll keep working hard and with the support of this amazing community anything might be possible, thanks for watching mate
Congrats on the 2K - sure it will be many times more as word grows about about your content. Watched every episode so far and always impressed by the variety, your knowledge and demeanour - esp enjoy the oil work but it's all good stuff
Thanks mate, I really apprecaite the kind words and support, I will try and get some more oil jobs on the channel, I like to keep it varied, thanks for watching
That's what normally happens, it used to be in the council spec that all pipes were red oxided after installing them, when they got rid of the clerk of the works who used to check all jobs the standards dropped dramatically, you see all sorts of stuff now that years ago would never had passed, nowadays it's whoever can do it cheapest wins the job
Thanks mate, I'm just happy to have built an amazing community of 2k people, I will keep working hard and maybe one day in the future 10k might be achievable, thanks for the support as always
Thanks Danny, I used to do alot of iron jobs, I haven't won a big job in a while, its super competitive at the minute, thanks for the support as always mate 👍
Thanks mate, I'm super happy to have built an amazing community of 2k, I'll keep working hard and try to produce good content, I really appreciate the support as always mate 👍
Hi mate, locktite 55 is my go to choice, it can be used on all liquids and gas, to be honest I don't think I've ever had a leak with it and the fittings can be backed off for alignment without the risk of leaks. My old boss use to use boss white and hemp, which worked well for him, but I used to find it slower and messy compared to locktite, I guess whatever works is good, as long as it don't leak
I'm not sure about that Paul, there are way better plumbers and content creators than me, I'm just happy to have built an amazing community and really appreciate everybody's amazing support.
I try and put back the material that was originally fitted. The specs on these sorts of jobs used to be really strict. A clerk of the works could come round and check to see everything was done correctly especially on the more complex or expensive jobs. Now it seems standards have dropped so low, I've seen plastic heating circuits thrown in round a boiler room, thanks for the support mate
