this movie was released 13 years before i was born. i didn’t see it until i was a few years old. i turn 20 this year & it’s still one of my favorite movies of all time. i barely know anyone who knows about the movie so it’s something my mom & i hold close to us. she was 8 when the movie came out! this movie will always hold such a special place in my heart
I freaking love this video and so thankful to you for letting me tag along! I had such a great time. And now when I watch the movie, I no longer have to image what it all looks like in person. Great job friend!!
So so awesome love love love that show and you are so damn cute just like Josh I found you on Josh's website exploring with Josh you're just as awesome so we're going to go exploring with you and watch your videos thank you thank you thank you take care your new fan Robbie from Ohio
I like the original tv-series from sweden from 1968/70. Astrid Lindgren in person wrote the script for the show and was a part of the filming crew. But never heard of this remake. Its probably US-only.
Honestly, I'm surprised that you even mention that film, since most people BARELY agnoladge it's or the animated Pippi version's existence. Even Sweden doesn't remember these films, arguably the only country that keeps her and Astrid's popularity!
I don't live far from there and will have to check out. Did you check out the old civil war fort, Fort Clinch, at the top end of the island? Thats pretty cool
There's a replica house, where the evil purple pie man locked me in the larder. And I only had all you alls Christmas cards to keep me company. It's across the abandoned Lone Star brewery in San Antonio Texas. That's the gateway to the other land. I can show you the way
Pippi wasn’t a spoilt millionaire rich girl though who preaches to the world about climate change and then hangs out with millionaire celebrities who pollute the earth with their own private jets and fancy sports cars....
AWESOME!! I worked on this movie as a 19yr old. I was part of the behind the scenes video documentation film crew! I can post more "facts" if you'd like? Tami "Pippi" turned 13 during that summer! Im still in touch with #TamiErin to this day!
I would love to hear more and see the scenes video documentation of behind the scenes. Is there a chance of any blooper reals or interviews with the actors?
Thank you for this. I’m now 34, and watching the movie with my own daughter. This movie impacted my life in such a way, and this location video made me feel like a little girl again!! Thank you so much!
What a wonderful video...called my daughter right away. she used to love those movies.. she wasn't even born when they first came out but I had bought them for her when she was old enough to enjoy them. She loved your video..thank you so much for sharing.
@@GreenDark45 haha, it was just weird to hear it in English, when I grew up with the original voices. I must say though, that her voice is not sounding far off from the original.
Loved this movie as a kid! Mobile Instinct goes to the best places! I had no idea this was filmed in Florida. I just subscribed to Leslie’s channel. It looks amazing too! 🌴 🌺
I never knew there was an American version... Kinda weird seeing Pipi as an American girl, especially with an American 80s soundtrack 😂 Greetings from Europe.
They filmed the movie "Vendetta" where I live and I was amazed at how well they could transform the area to make it look like Louisiana (meanwhile, it was in fact in Canada). One of our streets even had railroad tracks added etc... for the movie when there was no such thing on it. Palm trees etc... quite fascinating. If you watch the movie you can see some of our Towers in the background of some scenes, towers originally built to defend against an invasion from the USA. :)
Cool. I didn't even know they made a US version of Pippi's adventures. I have only seen the original swedish version. But this house too looks a lot like the original Villa Villekulla.
Thank you so much for making this video!! I was 13 when the movie was released and bought the dvd years later. I guess you could say that I’m a child at heart! 😊
My brother got married on Amelia island at the Omni Plantation Resort in June 2008. Pretty cool knowing Pippi was filmed there. I had no idea and shared this video with him. Thanks for the tour Chris. Just subbed to Leslie’s channel too.
My best friends live in Fernandina Beach. I actually use to live in Jacksonville for 15 years before moving to Melbourne. Great shots! Great video! Huge fan of your work!
It so strange to see that version of Pippi, I never seen it before, but I really love the locations and the characters. I get a feeling that they have changed the phasing a bit to fit an American audience, but it look really nice and fun. Just fun to see another Villa Villekulla (The name of the house in Swedish).
AWESOME..SO SO BEAUTIFUL JUST ❤️ Love this movie...and I made my children watched now their parents. And I'm still watching it....I've just watched it again with my grandson And today is April 25th 2023.
the locations you find that are seen in movies, are often used as inspiration, rather than using the actual house itself. it makes sense though, because it would be kinda hard to pull off the stunts Pippi is known for if there's not enough space. so they just use the location as a setting to go with the film, and looking at the house it fits the vibe of the movie.
