These guys are awesome to deal with. Customer service is top notch and communication is gold. I ordered this motor a few weeks ago and installed into my SSR125. Plug and Play! Started 2nd kick and after properly breaking in the motor, it rips!
Awesome vid guys still the most reliable engine I’ve ever used in the past never missed a beat literally put it thru hell my cousin done the same never even replace the factory oil :( but still lasted for years of punishment Please do a vid of the 146 and z40 upgrade and the power difference they make
I was ready to purchase a 125 Lifen engine for my Honda CT70 until I stumbled on to this channel with a Piranha 140 engine and the upgraded parts. Hope they have them in stock when I purchase.
I believe I have bought 3 engines from you guys. Your awesome. I stayed away from a 140CC motor because my understanding is you having to have a oil cooler. Also I thought a 140CC motor is a bit longer and the motor could rub the front fender. Next motor I buy will be from you guys.
My friend got one for his ssr 110. He let a friend of his ride it because he said he could. Well turns out he couldn't it was pinned in 1st gear hitting rev limiter for 15-20 secs and it still runs great to this day. Awesome engine.
I installed a 34mm carb on mine. took 2 years to tune it properly but it is a rocket now. Ive had to weld the kickstarter 3 times, but its fine now. I keep 2 cdi boxes side by side just in case I need em. The electrical , I use a full wave rectifier with a massive 2 farad capacitor running 24vdc. Led lights are the only thing that'll run that voltage. I welded a long steel bar with a small weight at the end over the rear wheel to eliminate that vibration at high rpm, wasn't intentional but it worked.
epic i found your guys channel ive been ordering parts from you guys for yeaRS iam saving up for a 190 motor for my tao tao hellcat 125 i blew out the shift point cant get it out of gear and when i order the bike it came with a oil leek so new motor save up time epic video !
I stumbled across this video while looking for some upgrades for my girls little 125cc (120cc actual) ATV. I don't even have a pit bike, but want this motor! I don't think my 8 year old daughter would appreciate losing her electric start, reverse, and automatic on her little Midsize quad though.. But Daddy would have a blast! 🤘😂 New subscriber. Thanks for the video, I liked it and the presentation and knowledge is great.. I like all things with motors, and making them better and faster....We will get along. haha 👍 Take care y'all
I love this video, I have a honda cub 90cc, and I'm interested in getting one of these 140cc engine with the full setup that's why you're in and everything, I would like to make contact with you guys.
EDIT: Sorry we were idiots and figured out the major issue on forums. Turns out Lifan motors require people to buy an oil cooler and we didnt get one nor be told we needed one. Motor still runs but we put assembly lube in there for now. We are going to get a new head and get an oil cooler. Sorry for the waste of time. Hey, im back with a more serious question. I got my motor and the clutch is better but we opened the cam area up to adjust the valves. We did them and the exhaust valve was really loose. We got that done and we opened cam cover and it was BONE dry. We looked at the cam and it was so dry it was grinded down atleast a millimeter. We are thinking it was the oil pump??? Please give us your opinion on what happend.
I have a 2012 pirahna with a yx140 engine. I race it quite a bit and run it hard everytime I ride it and she starts up without a problem everytime. I’ve recommended piranha bikes to tons of my buddy’s and recently sold my 12 because I purchased a 18 with the 12&14”wheels. One thing I noticed is my 12 had the oil cooler on it. Wondering if this is a good option for these newer bikes or do you think it’s not necessary?
I just did a 2 minute video of me cussin mad as hell at TBOLTUSA bout to post it but I deleted it. All info I came across it kept saying it’s a direct bolt onto the Honda engine . Yes that’s true, but VERY MISLEADING. I can’t use my STOCK foot pegs and I just BARELY found out when I’m trying to install everything . I’ve had this engine for like 3 weeks preparing everything for my build to knock it out all in one day bruh. Now I find out in the middle of my build while my engine was already out that my stock pegs don’t fit?! Now I gotta waste another couple weeks waiting until I get paid cuz of bullshit information on TBOLTUSA’s end. I screenshotted their info and it says “recommended” foot mount. And on top of the s/c it warns users about clearance issues on another bike But nothing on the crf50. Waste of my time dude that’s bullshit bruh. Could have left my other engine on and enjoy my bike while I wait for parts. I’m beyond frustrated right now man.
Hey there. I hear you. We could be a bit more clear, but we often try to use phrases like recommended since you likely wouldn't need a new peg bar with a ton of different brands like SSR or Pitster, but you're right on the Hondas you do. It sucks to be out out a bike for a while, especially cause of a tight budget. We tried to have almost everything in the kit on our site, but left our the peg bar since not everyone needs it, but I'm going to tell Dad I suggest we take another look at the wording. Thank you for your TBoltUSA.com order, and I'm sorry you're having issues.
I bought two Piranha 125cc engines from Tbolt for my 1991 and 1992 ct70s. Very similar to the 140cc engines. If you are installing these on a 91 thru 94 CT70, the cool thing is that the stock stator plate from the original 72cc engine is interchangeable with that stator plate for the Piranha engine. Swap the stator plates and it becomes plug and play, no need to modify the wiring. Im running mine with all the stock Honda electronics with no issues. There is no lead for the neutral light though. This was for the 125cc piranha, I believe its the same for the 140cc ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jGlQKS11C3U.html

Wish you guys to do a video on that same motor for 140 piranha but show us how to hook up our lights and make sure battery stays charged. That’s a huge problem with these engines
you dont have a prob on a honda 50,,,with the head of the motor hitting the front tire?,,i have a lafin 140 and its verry close to the front tire on my bike
So what are the benfits with the trc ez-start performance cdi exactly? I know u said kickback but is there any other way to correct that or only the cdi box?
I do not have the ground connection to connect to frame I have the plug ins from the stator. Should I just plug in the ground from the stator and cdi together or bolt them to frame?
Mass layoffs + Stimulus Checks = sold out engines I'm positive that we will get more piranha 140s in the future. but within a few months and entire years worth of engine sold out. The supply chains were never ready for this.
If it's sheer power and torque that you want, DAYTONA all the way! If it's fun and versatility that you need, then maybe the piranha 140 is the better route
solid engine the yx140 but bare in mind they can be a bitch to start even set up right don't just kick it make sure to go past the tdc before trying to kick they will strip kick start gears otherwise
We should just never using synthetic during break-in, it's been known to cause the cylinder to be glazed, The rings don't see properly, And your engine will more likely smoke. also your clutch may slip with synthetic as this is a wet clutch engine.
Hey, got a serious question and i hope you guys can answer it. I Recently bought a Lifan 140 (im hoping they are similar) And when we got it in we realized the clutch is EXTREMELY hard, if you got any answers let me know immediately!
First thoughts are it might need some break time to let the plates get lubed up better. I'd suggest emailing contact@tboltusa.com dad might have a better idea. -jr
@@TBoltUSA Yeah, i figured. We got the engine into our quad and we pulled the clutch in and we were confused. I Rode it around and broke it in, the clutch felt a little better but we will see. Thanks!
I had a question I'm making a go kart and I was thinking about useing a Piranha 140cc 4 speed. I'm not trying to race just somthing to have fun on for not super expensive. Is this a good little engine? I'm 200lb will it be strong enough to push me
That engine is around 11 whp a stock gokart is around 7-9hp hp to the crank and had no transmission. The piranha 140cc is about twice de Power and you Gotta have 4 speed. Its gonna rip
@@MACKTOP666 it's crazy that you just sent me this reply because I'm seriously debating on ordering this engine right now as I'm typing this. It's in the shopping kart
Hey Scott, the oil is added at the factory, and it's mainly just for the quick test run at the factory. It should be about 950ml or so, but might vary. We definitely recommend draining it and adding 950ml 10w40 Non-Synthetic. It's worthwhile to check with the dipstick as you add, but in reality if you overfill it, it should blow out the overflow. -jr
@@NasdaqManiac I swapped the 140 in and it went in just fine. The only issue I had was the petcock for the gas tank is right where the carb sits. I had to get creative and extend the manifold a bit to push the carb rearward of the petcock. other than that, it was a super easy swap.
my 140 ran great for about year and a half. now it starts for about 3 seconds and dies and wont start again but will just repeat exactly the same thing and flood itself.. any ideas?
