@fras89 idc about no Discovery channel kid 😂 I've used to own red belly and black piranhas. Watch their behavior instead of enjoying the prey getting ripped to shreds! They attack when they see other piranhas attack. (its usually one of two that starts the attack) then they all attack in cycles. When they ALL attack, they attack in a feeding frenzy. Their behavior is skiddish, and they aren't social like an Oscar or other cichlids. I own a fish room kid and have been a hobbyist for over 20 years. I don't need to watch the Discovery Channel for my info.

@@piranhasworld Actually I’m very familiar with the Piranha species as my Red Belly is about the size of a salad plate, and I also have a tank set up with a school of smaller black piranha’s. I need to keep a brick on the lid of the RBP bcuz he’s known to hit the lid when he’s hungry. It amazed me of how they smart they really are to associate food with the opening of the lid, lol. I’m not some kind of PETA idiot for I’m an avid hunter and fisherman as well. I just got a lil piturbed about using a hobby shark as food. As hobby fish owners it’s our responsibility to take pride in having the integrity of teaching the younger generation of being a responsible fish owner, especially when it comes to raising piranha as well as the other species of aquarium fish. Of course I feed my piranhas fish, but there’s a reason why we have feeders whether they’re goldfish or bull minnows. I use bull minnows bcuz it’s actually part of their natural diet in the wild, as well as red meat for RBP. Yes it’s part of piranhas natural feeding habit, this isn’t part of the sharks natural environment. This shark wouldn’t have the piranha as a natural predator. It’s not just about the natural nature of one species, it’s about the prey’s natural environment too. What others think about us doesn’t matter by any means, but our character defines us! If you know, you know what every man knows!

I had even a few going up to 16 inch

If they don't have a big enough tank they will turn on eachother
