Electric organs are a thing. I've seen my fair share. They may not sound anywhere near as grandiose as the real thing, but for practice, they'll do just fine... I mean, you've got to learn somehow, right?

Even the best speakers can't convey the absolute *force* that an organ like this can push. Until you're in the presence of someone playing one of these things in person, you really don't understand the sheer magnitude of musical power that these things can express. In the right hands, they're absolutely stupefying. I'd love to hear this song played on a big organ like this someday. The person in the video plays it quite well.

You are so right. For those who have not experienced a pipe organ live and preferably in a good acoustical space, do yourself a favor and find a concert. These are amazing instruments and need to be felt. There is also a big difference between a concert organ, like this one and a theater style organ. Both are amazing and need to be experienced.

What i love about this song is the emotion behind it, the angelic tones of the first part represents Davy's heart founding love, in the second part, everything darkens and hope goes away, and the powerful tones represent his sadness turned into anger

It goes from a whimsical almost ethereal tune into an angry almost cacophonous nearly overwhelming symphonic peice then falls back to a haunting rendition of the original melody. In my opinion it almost perfectly represents grief or loss you are happy in an almost whimsical state then something happens that corrupts your view of the world you are in grief this explosion and Rollercoaster of emotions swirling around like a storm. Then finally you accept what has happened and things calm down and while you have healed there is still the scar that will never fade and therefore it remains in some way still having changed the way things are permanently

10 years... 10 years he devoted to the duty She gave him. 10 long years he looked after those who died at sea... and finally, when they could be together again, She wasn't there. His grief was terrible. The only thing that was dear for him, was destroyed. He couldn't excuse, but he couldn't torture. He took her to Pirates and told them how to put her in human body to payback, but this decision was so hard for him to do that after that he decided to hide his own heart in the chest. During years, he always remembered all of that and never could decide... what of his actions was right. One half of him was a monster with a growing anger for his dispair, another - that almost forgotten human he was a lot of time ago. The more he lived, the more he turned into terrible cruel monster... but he never could forget all the story of his love. The story, where he lost his love and himself. He didn't become a monster just because of nothing. She made it to him. Why wasn't she there?

Ever hear of electro-pneumatic action? Instead of using a mechanical link to the keys on the console (tracker action) or electromagnetic valves that directly open the valves that let air into the pipes (direct electric action), there's a small electromagnet that opens a small valve, which lets air into a channel leading to a leather pouch. When this small valve opens, the leather pouch collapses and opens a larger valve, letting air into the pipe. It seems like an extra step would be counterintuitive, but it lets the electromagnets be smaller and use less power. Instead of working against the air pressure to open the pipe valve, they make the air pressure open the pipe valve. Point is, there are two valves for every pipe. The world's largest pipe organ uses this, and it has 33,112 pipes. That's almost 70,000 valves.

So, the thing with organs, for anyone that hasn't seen one personally, is that they are HUGE. Like, so big, that all the pipes and stuff have their own room with nothing but the pipes in it. So, how Davey Jones was able to fit an entire organ on his ship baffles me. Also, organ require all of your limbs to play it. There's an entire third keyboard under his feet, all with its own keys that he has to step on to make certain notes or sounds.

Pipe organs, church organs, or whatever it can be called..the instrument is my favorite instrument of all time. reminds me of Zelda. it uses air..it uses wind to make music. which in my opinion is the best. its so interesting to learn about..plus it lets out a beautiful sound..and makes wonderful music.

Fun fact: the knobs technical name is "stop". The famous phrase "pulling all the stops" (meaning "do something with maximum effort or ability") is believed to come exactly from the organ instrument, probably because of how sick it sounds. Also, "pulling all the stops" is an old idiom, just imagine people from the fourth century BC hearing something like this. It stuns US, TODAY, I like to imagine how they would've felt hearing it!

I would say 90% of the the time simultaneously, if a church or any building is going to have an organ, u need to make sure they'll work together, especially since the building is literally the instrument I'm not kidding the pipes u see are only the tip of the iceberg in most cases. Theres usually more in the walls

Older styled organs generally had to be implanted in the church while it's foundation was being laid, since at that time they were such massive instruments that could be heard throughout an entire town, required two men to play, and seventy men to provide the necessary airflow with blowers. That said, churches were often DESIGNED and the foundations laid before or during the organ's manufacture, as you can't just throw in a massive pipe organ into a tiny cathedral and expect it to fit or resonate properly. Nowadays, with standardized parts, cheap materials and fast automated production lines, Organs are much more quickly built and most conform to a single 'one-size-fits-all' design philosophy for churches to build around.
