Watch Pirates of the Caribbean on Disney+
Creation by Gore Verbinski's "Pirates of the Caribbean" hit the spot. It turned out that viewers were simply hungry for scoundrelly cinema which for decades has not hosted on the screens.
Although the third part of trilogy is detached from the level of the other two parts, the whole is undeniably a great piece of cinema adventure that draws extensively on the best films of the genre, creating a truly explosive mix.
Great script, spectacular performances and funny and witty dialogues. There will be not a heresy, if I write at the end, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" without shame can be placed next to such classics as "Star Wars", "Back to the Future" and "The Lord of the Rings".

I remember watching At World's End for the first time as a kid. the fight between Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones at the top of the Dutchman's sail, fighting for the key and the chest respectively, while the Flying Dutchman and the Black Pearl slowly clashing into each other, in the middle of a huge storm created by a merciless goddess. it was so epic. i love the original trilogy (or as i personally call it, the Elizabeth Turner trilogy).

@@artilleryproductions6107 but... Jack Sparrow was in all of them, that wouldn’t make any sense. Will and Elizabeth were the actual main characters of the first three films, Jack was always the ‘Very Strong Supporting Character’.

@@allthatjazz4437 very true. Jack is to this trilogy as obi wan is to the prequels. Both can be considered one of the main characters, but in truth they really aren't the primary lead.

I consider Elizabeth, Will, and Jack to be relatively equal main characters. The first movie is just as much about Jack's revenge as it is Will and Elizabeth trying to get to eachother, Jack helping them both to those ends as well. I'd consider Barbossa a strong supporting character over Jack. And yes, that whole end battle in the maelstrom is awesome. There's a lot of practical effects and real stunts going on too.

Now Im sure that these are my favorite movies ever. Pirates, legends and an amazing cast. Keira Knightley is perfect in this role.

I remain rather sad that this ends up having to be called the "original" trilogy, instead of simply "the trilogy". These three films told a complete story, with lovable characters, and that should have been that. Hollywood doesn't know when to stop. These films worked because of the wonderful dynamic between the three leads: Johnny, Keira & Orlando (as well as Geoffrey Rush, among others). Thank you for this video. A great look back at some wonderful movie-going memories. :)

Other films were disappointments, but it didn't ruin first 3 films for me at all. 4th was not good, 5th had somewhat good storyline, but WAY too much humor. Jack felt like a drunk and not like a badass

After watching POTC 4 and 5 I am fully convinced that Gore Verbinski held these crazy productions together. I enjoy the first 3 films in the series and even thought the first movie still the best, he managed to craft something crazy and imaginative his two follow ups. This was a very well put together tribute to his movies. Well done indeed.

I was perhaps surprisingly able to tolerate 4 and 5 as simple popcorn adventure films okay enough, but they don’t stick with me like the first three do. They throughly captured my imagination in my late pre-teen/early teen years. They felt kind of like my generation’s Star Wars. This new lightning in a bottle that nobody could’ve predicted that perfectly balanced familiarity and innovation if that makes sense. Haha

Probably the best edited fan vid of POTC thus far! utterly brilliant. But there is just one hiccup. So much of the dialogue unfortunately is drowned by the fantastic music, if I didn't already know the dialogue more or less by heart I had never been able to make it out here.

This is seriously deserving of more views. I do not often say this but this video captures everything good about the first 3 films and is masterly edited. This video highlights what was perfect. Now for the simple reason of greed, Disney has killed off Barbossa making his character a younger Barbossa only option available played by someone who likely wont be able to even come close to Geoffery Rush's performance. They have removed Johnny Depp due to the accusations Amber Heard put against him and the "controversy" that was later found to be a lie on Amber Heard's part and even showing she was the one causing physical harm between the two of them. Disney did this before the case had been closed ruling in favour of either of them. Particularly since it ruled in favour of Depp his absence is going to make any future films plummet drastically as it wont even be a case of Jack Sparrow was killed off he still lived. Now Disney could bring him back but I doubt Depp would and it would also mean Disney has to basically say we wrong to take you out of the equation. Which they likely will not. So PotC was dying but Disney has just likely put the final nail in the coffin because of stupid knee jerk reactions with no logic behind it and greed.

Great tribute video! I just love Gore Verbinski's original trilogy of POTC movies. The second and the third ones are so underrated and misunderstood. On Stranger Tides is a huge afterthought and shouldn't exist, Rob Marshall is a lackluster director and the film lacks the power of the originals. I just ignore that it exists, just like Indy 4.

i think the problem with stranger tides was that they made jack the main character. he only works as a side character who steals the show. will and elizabeth are meant to be the most important

I wish the time between each movie was better explained in the movies. The storyline in each movie was well written but not explained well on how they got to that point in the next movie. Like the beginning of dead man’s chest.
