Problem solved I was using the Manny premade blueprint so already had a event begin play set so I attached the nodes you shown to this event play and it worked. Thank you.

Hello Loco, I am not sure what is the issue, but my pistol moves and bounces along with the locomotion animations. How to fix that and make the pistol still. I have used 1.5 in blend weights as well.. please reply I need help!
He dragged from BP pistol to get it. My guess is you need to open up BP pistol click on its static mesh in components then add a skeletal mesh. Or you might be using a pistol that only has a static mesh. The way to tell is, open your content browser type name of your pistol asset and see if any results say skeletal mesh or static mesh
My apologies, you would need to do this in your character blueprint. Not the pistol. Open your character blueprint. Component, mesh, add skeletal or static mesh to your characters mesh. Then choose the parent socket for static mesh
3 minutes in and I’m already stumped tryna add the crosshair. When I try to add a new “Event Beginplay” it just shows/directs me to the one already on “Add input mapping”. Then I also don’t have the “mount body” collapsed graph. I feel like I’m starting from the middle or something following this video. (I haven’t watched the rest yet) Also, this is my first time EVER doing something like this in unreal by the way.
you will have to be more clear on these tutorials im sure you understand the stress of starting out in developing not knowingg anything starting a project from a tutorial video and then discovering they already had everything setup differently than a fresh project just to match the tutorial they are making and make it harder on the person learning but easier on the person making the tutorial aka you @@LocoDev
