Why is it taking the Pistons so long to reach a decision on Monty? Should the Pistons take abig swing and draft Salaun? How will Trajan help revive the Pistons?
I am still high on Duren. I think he has the athletic ability and with the coaching and experience can get better on defense in all facets...offense too. I want no part of Clingan. Duren is still only 20 years old. His ability to stay healthy is what may be the scariest thing with him to me. Kind of like Cade. All this franchise guy stuff is just a joke when you have 3 years and have never seen 70 games once. Ivey has more games in 2 years than Cade in 3. For these guys to ever blossom and be the stars they could become they first need to be healthy and available for most games. Duren has also not been available yet for 70 games in a year. Between the bad draft slot luck and then the bad availability luck on the guys you did draft things have not gone all that well considering so many bad seasons in a row with so many chances at getting better. I think the best pick of them all we have gotten is Ivey. 74 and 77 games in 2 years. Too bad Monty ruined a bunch of those 77 for him last year. I hope they fire him and I will personally never forgive what he did to Ivey with Weaver in on it by starting Killian Hayes and making Ivey the 11th guy off the bench at times. That was total dereliction of duty.
I am all for riding with Duren! He is going to keep getting better, especially with the right coach! My feeling is the way Monty handled Ivey drove Weaver nuts!
@@daviddalton2238 Could be but I tend to believe that Weaver is the guy who had the most stake in trying to get Killian to a playable level as he drafted him and we all saw what he did signing Stew early to try and salvage something out of that 3 1st rounder class when he did not really need to do it. Though Stew did step up his 3 ball rate to where it needs to be to really be called a stretch and I don't think it was terrible. To me it was that Monty like to always beat up mentally somebody on the team and Weaver had the Lions share of skin in the Killian game. And Ivey was a victim of both of those guys. But you could be right too.
The Piston fanatic Podcaster I find to be very hypocritical....one day Monte is a good coach then next broadcast he's not......only because Ivy hasn't panned out to yo expectations
Waiting with bated breath for an announcement that Monty Williams has been fired. There's no way they can bring back this coach after his egregious handling of the team last season.
Ok. I got a trade not many have brought up. What about Isaiah Stewart for Naz Reid? Timberwolves are in a weird situation. They only have Reid for 1 more year and almost certainly won’t be able to resign him as is. This trade gives them a stretch big that can play with both Towns and Gobert. And one that is under contract at an affordable rate for them for 3 more years. Naz Reid gives the Pistons are starting stretch PF.
Zack Eddy and Coligan are my top choices in the top 5 - both good all-around big men. Duren can be good on the right team, but his strength is rebounding. Given his physical strength he may develop a decent inside game, but this requires a big man Coach to work with him. Perhaps the new POB Operations is smart enough to realize this. Then can potentially have two bigs down low sacrificing their lack of outside shooting.
You gotta be joking. Zack Eddy could never deal with Duren. He will be lucky to be an end of the 1st round guy. He can barely run the court. Duren would outrun him every possession and just camp out near the basket and oop it or dunk it every time before Eddy even got past half court. Duren is a 10 years straight from here NBA starter. Eddy is a back up who the NBA bigs will tear apart his entire career.

Before hey started I picked the Celtic! Obviously they have home court, some tough defenders that match up with Luka and Kyrie and they have 7 guys that can really. shoot the three! The Mavs do have two of the greatest offensive players I have ever seen so they can never be counted out!
I was hoping for Shepperd at 5 but now all the mocks are having him gone well before then. I think my next best option is Dalton Knecht. There are definitely better athletes out there than Knecht but we saw that route with Ausar and how terribly that fits with the team. We need a very capable shooter desperately to mix in with what we have. It would be a terrible thing to add another suspect or disaster type of shooting player from outside.
Shepherd and Knecht are definitely the best shooters to target! I wish Shepherd were as tall as Knecht or that Knecht could play defense like Shepherd!
@@daviddalton2238 Sheppard is one of them white boys that you cannot say cannot jump....was at the top of the class in leaps. Knecht is older though and I think will be ready quickly to contribute with a high floor. Shepperd though is big compared to Sasser. LOL
Quit useing Monte as a scapegoat...because Ivy hasnt improved much....id say with 5th pick...get a defensive center....keep Ivy...keep the twin...keep Isaih...keep duran...then load up with vets. KEEP MONTE
I like Duren yet he has no low post presence or moves. Trade him for a pick. Zach Edey pick 5. Stop trying to get us to play small ball and keep losing. Cade needs Zach. Ivey needs Zach. The whole team needs Zach Edey. We’ve tried wings with Cade. After we traded Jeremy Grant. What wing that’s going to be drafted that’s better than him. It’s not so hi get Zach with that 5th pick. He would be a better fit than Ausar Thompson will ever be. Nobody else can shoot as poorly as Ausar after 3 straight years of working 24/7 basketball. Holland would not break my heart at all though he is not quite the 3 and D wing I would like with the percentage he shot last year.
Anybody who saw a starting PG in KIllian Hayes over Jaden Ivey is a complete loser with no basketball IQ at all. Killian is not even going to be in the NBA from here unless he is a very end of the bench scrub. Every damn fan in Detroit knew that. Every analyst in the country knew it. And everybody knew we needed to see Ivey and Cade play together after Cade missed almost all of Ivey's very promising rookie year. Monty destroyed everything and did absolutely nothing right at all. He is one of the worst coaches of all times.
