As far as those new style aft sponson drops with the fences, the U-8 has it only on the right sponson, the U-9 has it on both sponsons, and the U-40 has it only on the left side. The 40 is the only one with the extra little canard at the aft end of the sponson that appears to be set at an angle that turns the airflow almost straight down. I have often wondered if Vilwock was trying to blow high speed air into the water ahead of the skid fin in an attempt to get some aeration going. Might reduce skid fin drag a bit down the straights in addition to adding lift. Before he left the U-37, a few interesting gopro videos popped up. They had a camera mounted on the back of the sponson looking back and down at the skid fin. Sure looked like they were studying that area a lot. Then he left and suddenly the 40 had those mods done the year Dave started driving it. It will be interesting to see what the 27 looks like if they ever bring it back out since Dave has been heading up that rebuild.

The tent setup is where the team does the Magneflux checks on the prop and stub shaft between races. They need a dark place for the black light.

I've got a pretty cool video of the U-3 sending the prop through the wing, happened directly in front of all of us on the Pasco side. Initially we all thought what we saw was a turbo flipping through the air until I played back the video.

I went to the southern cup at Guntersville lake, y'all have a whole lot more going on at the Columbia cup. A whole lot more boats in each class and have more classes, there were 7 boats in unlimited, 4 in Grand Prix, 8 in pro lite, 1 restored antique boat. And that was the whole venue. Which results in hours of downtime between rounds. Not that I wasn't amazed and didn't enjoy it but I was disappointed in the amount of time there was nothing going on.

By building a carburetor for him are you referring to flowing a carburetor?

Hearing your commentary on putting your tune on those full size hydros, and using your carburetors has me curious. I'd love to see a video on your involvement. Seems like you're well respected in that pit area. Tell us more please!
