My favorite guitar player ever and Epic is so sick. I met him in Ohio just days after their gear was stolen on tour, and he was borrowing an RG752 like the one I own. I was able to get him to sign my RG752 pickguard. I still have the autographed Concrete Gardens CD/DVD as well.
My favorite "Shrapnel guitarrist" and one of my favorite overall musicians ever. Still have those "Madness" and "Premonition" albums I bought in the mid 90's as a kid. What a school!
For 30 years I've always felt like more people should know who this dude is lol. Not that its important in life, just one of those things... you know? Highly respected by his peers. Living legend right there in terms of guitar players. Pitbull audio.... dudes!!! Get a mic on Tony. Who did mics for this?!?!
Am fortunate enough to have seen him multiple times, including one show where he played in my old hometown of San Pedro, at the local music store/dance school, Alva'susic. He is a very cool, down to Earth guy. At Alva's, I've seen him twice there, sat less than 3 feet from him, and during the second show, Herman Li was there, and sitting not far was Allan Holdsworth.
Love Tony!!!Saw him at Scout Bar Houston 2019 before all this pandemic garbage happened!!!!Amazing skill’s as a player and composer!!!Can’t wait till it is safe to see him in the future!!!!
Tonaaaaaay! hahaha H&K had great tones from waaaay back in the day. I owned an Attax 50 solid state combo and I ran it into a homemade speaker cab with a Celestion speaker and it sounded great. The name is cheezy but the sound was really good. Hafler was another company that made amazing sounding preamps. I was using H&K around 1993 probably.
not "one of the best shredders" but THE best one, and not "from the 80's but EVER. Just hear the brilliant "Hundreds of Thousands", the insane solo "Quarter to midnight" ,the genius level album like "Premonition", and the versatility of the album "Madness". Every other "shredders" pales in comparison. However, the tone of a solid state amp like the Black Spirit can never match the tone of a tube amp like the Triamp
I agree. Of all the shredders who came out of that era he was the most refined, the most mature. He is also an excellent keyboard player and has played keys on all of his albums.
Macalpine Is, by far, the best guitar player out there. No one can come even close. He mixes, flawlessly, with abroad technique and finesse, the best of prog, neoclassical and fusion. The only one that could come close to him was Holdsworth, but he is dead. I'm very glad he overcame cancer. I don't like his early work. MARS project, his tone and singing stuff, although the playing Is always top notch. But I guess the CAB recordings and the work with Sherinian opened New frontiers for him. The most mature work from Tony Is amazing. By the way, that Mancuso guy is just like any flamenco player playing electric guitar, nothing new under the sun
Even though his main instrument is not the electric guitar, he has always been technically and musically on a par with the leading virtuosos. Besides, he did revolutionize instrumental metal music along with Yngwie. He is an extremely seasoned musician, and his CD "Premonition" is his undisputed masterpiece.
Tony is world classplayer I got the pleasure of working with him in the 90,s in florida doing some clinics I got to hangout and we did some things hmm. we had a lot of fun he's a one the best shredders of our day that gives u are age lol those were best days of shred he,s so trained and fuck his keyboard playing unreal classical composition,s tony is the real deal lv ya tony . From Gary blaze
Tony`s wearing a LONDON sweatshirt. Cool. I saw him at the Underworld in Camden in 2008. It was one of the best gigs I have attended. I was standing at the front stage to the left of Tony and right in front of Billy Sheehan. The coolest thing was I got to shake hands with Tony at the end of the gig. It did not improve my guitar playing however. I still sucked. Lol.
