Pitch It! LEGEND OF ZELDA MOVIE 

Honestly, I think an adaptation of Ocarina of Time movie would end in disaster no matter what. There's just too many things they have to get right and so many things that could go wrong. However, an adaptation of Majora's Mask, that's a different story and removes 90% of the problems. It's such a personal and emotionally driven story as it is, that compared to Ocarina of Time, it just can't go wrong. Start it with narration about the origin of the Hero of Time, that he traveled through land and time to save Hyrule from evil and then went searching for his lost friend. Some obvious changes would have to be made to streamline it. Probably remove the transformation masks and anything that isn't necessary to the story. Change the 3 day cycle to 1 full day to increase the tension. Pick out random elements of the struggles of the people in Termina to build up a world you want to see saved. Have Tatl not remember anything everytime Link travels back to emphazise the loneliness and hopelesness Link struggles with. Hell, they could even change Link's backstory completely if needed. The problem of Link not having a personality is completely eliminated here, because he doesn't really need a strong personality here. The story is simply about a normal kid with the weight of the world (the moon?) on his shoulders, and not in the generic "save the world" fantasy way. We're talking planetary annihilation, impeding doom, 1 repeated day of everyone around you slowly falling into hysteria before they all die a fiery death, and a 10 year old is the only one that can do anything to save them from themselves and the apocalypse. Stuck with that soul crushing responsibility. That alone is already compelling. Make it a story about Link's outer and inner struggles, (as well as that of the Skull Kid and the other inhabitants). Here's one way they could portray it as an example: To get to one of his objectives, he always has to pass through this 6 year old guarding his friends' hideout. Link has already learned their password from an ealier cycle, but after being mentally exhausted and frustrated from failing again, and again, and again, and again, he doesn't give him the password, he just says "move". When the kid doesn't move he just throws him to the side and the kid runs off crying. He feels bad but is out of f:s to give at this point. Tatl gets angry at him and he escalates a fight that ends with Link giving up and Tatl saying she'll save Termina on her own. So at this point, Link's spirit is officially broken, and he decides to just leave Termina telling himself he did everything he could and their fate isn't his problem. But like it usually goes, some positive influence changes his mind (maybe the Mask Salesman?) and he goes on to save the day anyway. Since Zelda isn't even in this game, they don't even have to call it Legend of Zelda. They could just call it "Majora's Mask" or "Hero of Time". That way it's less associated as just another "video game movie". Many might even think it's a completely original story. At the same time you still have tons of stuff in there that the fans will love, like hearing Link play the actual Song of Time while the world is burning around him and he goes back in time. If a Majora's Mask movie does well, THEN it might be relevant to make a prequel!

You had me at Del Toro and Dylan O'Brien and then just kept making it even better with your other choices! Great pitch Jordan!

I like the idea of all these actors you bring up, as well as this being a combination of Indiana Jones meets Lord of the Rings. I too also feel like Link should have a voice and personality. Making him a silent protagonist in the games works because people can project on to him while we control him, In a movie we can't play him so there isn't a point. I'm a little confused on the plot, is this an adaptation, or an original story? Cause you bring up characters from across the franchise that were very specific to the game's theyre in. I'd rather the latter because, direct adaptations of games always have to worry about how much of the game's plot they use, if it's too similar, non Zelda fans complain about the spread out the story is. If it differs, us Zelda fans will complain about the differences and pick apart the changes. Thats why I feel it should be original.

Personally I think that the Legend of Zelda would make a fantastic movie all you would need to do is take out all of the filler content. For example imagine the plot of Ocarina of Time where Zelda recruits link to get the Triforce before Gannon but instead of them getting the three spiritual stones you have them going to the Temple of Time and getting the Triforce. But right when their about to get the Triforce Gannon comes in and tries to take it. A fight breaks out between three of them but Ganon wins. They flee from the scene with their pieces of the Triforce. Then they try to get the master sword in order to kill Ganon. We go through another Temple for the master sword. Then one final battle where Ganon goes full pig monster. Personally I don't see link as being very sarcastic to me he's more of a put upon every man who's very earnest and sincere.
