I travelled to Emmen as they faced Groningen in the 2nd division and also went pitchside whilst celebrating with Groningen after the match 👀 Follow My Socials 👇 Instagram - / fusion_josh Twitter - / fusionjosh_ TikTok - / fusionjosh
To solve your confusion: The 2nd tier of Netherlands has this ''periods system'', in which the season is split into 4 'periods'. The top team from every period earns a guaranteed spot at the promotion play-offs. So basically, you can finish like 17th in the overall standings, but still have a chance of promotion if you had a good run in one of these periods. As a bonus, I want to let you know that FC Emmen's shirt sponsor is an adult toy company (isn't that as Dutch as it can get?). 10:08 'Better toys, greater joy' lol!
Hey man, i think you should go to the final match of FC Groningen this season. That game will be played against Roda JC, number 2 in the league. Winner wil be promoted as it looks like right now. I think it will be absolute chaos in Groningen that day. If you want a taste of what that could be like, check on youtube the match against AZ in 2015 (3-0). Absolute scenes!
@fusionjosh the "celebration" was for Groningen winning the 3 "period" in the league... They already won it bar losing like 15-0 to Emmen, but now it was official... They are 4 periods and winners auto qualify for playoffs.. in general top 2-8 will qualify, but if you have a string of bad weeks/months you can still make it by winning a period....... Forza Fc G
The classic rival of Groningen is Twente and to a lesser extent Heerenveen. Emmen hasn't really got a rival. Their biggest rivalry was with Veendam in the 2nd Division but Veendam got bankrupt.
Im an Emmen fan and really loved your video despite the result. Unfortunately it’s not our year but we still have good changes for play-offs. Hope you will come again if we reach the play-offs!
MVV Maastricht- VVV Venlo last match of game should be a nice one. For playoff spot. MVV are about to go bankrupt, fans are funding 35k within 24hrs and trying to sell out the stadium. Should be an interesting match, in a big city (and oldest city of The Netherlands) like Maastricht
Emmen Groningen is not a derby. There is no history between the clubs as Emmen has been in the 2nd tier for a long time. But especially from the Emmen side there might be a little bit more tension for this game than during the other matches. (Both want to win a little bit more than usual games)
As others have said already, you should definitely visit FC Groningen vs. Roda on 10.05., last matchday and very likely the deciding match on who gets direct promotion and who has to go into the long and difficult playoffs!! Love it when you visit Groningen!
Go to Aachen in Germany right at the Dutch Border, its 4 division (Regional Liga West) but they have always about 25.000 People in the Stadium this Seoson. Last Saturday 30.000.
Man as a Groningen supporter I just want to thank you man. The love you show our team from an outsider is very rare and we appreciate it. We shouldn't play in the 2nd division, our club is way too historical for that. My father still tells me about the games against Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan. Fortunately these home-grown boys know this and play their hearts out, so we'll be back soon ! 💚
Btw our away supporters are very amazing fans and we take pride in the fact that at every away game you can here our supporters the clearest during the match
If the table stays like this till the end of the season you should go to groningen-roda jc it will be the match to decide who will get straight promotion and who will have to play playoffs
Hondsrug derby, or translated the "doggyback derby". I even played there against their youth team. Got destroyed ofc but we got the main dressing rooms as a u17 amateur team so that was kinda cool
Spotted the Aberdeen scarf behind you! Vicente Besuijen is on loan from us to Emmen this season - he scored from just past the half way line last week! Can't wait to get him home ha
Its not, No awayfans allowed. And rodafans dont think its a derby. better to visit, is Roda-Cambuur. Last home match of the season for Roda and very important promotion match.
The away ends here are so small because outside of the top 3 teams with exceptions of Twente and NEC there isn´t really that much support. Mostly because of stupid rules (No free traveling, restricted bus combi´s where you get dropped of at the away end and can´t visit the city of your opponent) Most teams struggle to get away attendences over 500
I like you content Come to my club Ado Den Haag big sleeping giant Den haag big city in the netherlands the have big supporters groups and loyaal i give the ticket
G u gotta get rid of that psv scarf underneath the ajax scarfs on your wall. Its a disrespect to the most beautiful club of the country and you just earned yourself a thumbs down for this one👎
U need to visit Willem ii - Groningen. Willem ii can become champions that game and it's also a really important game for Groningen, it's going to be a heated match.
Do you want to visit one of the last 2 (quarantined) games of SC Cambuur in their current stadium (they are moving at the end of the season) I can help with tickets
Great to see you went to watch FC Groningen again, we would love to have you again. And as many people recommended already you should go to FC Groningen and Roda JC
